We Obtain Eternal Life by Believing into Christ to Have God’s Life and Never Perish

October 19, 2026 by aGodMan Leave a Comment

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom. 6:23

The first and basic attribute of God is the divine life, for God’s life is the unique life, the eternal life, the only life that is really life; we today can obtain eternal life in this age by faith in Jesus Christ, for when we believe into the Lord Jesus, we receive the eternal life of God!

Lord Jesus, thank You for being life, even the eternal life. Thank You that we can receive You as life. Hallelujah, by faith in Christ, we can receive and obtain the divine life, the eternal life of God! Praise the Lord, we believers in Christ have the divine life and nature in us, for we have believed into the Lord Jesus, and He is our very life! Amen, Lord, keep us enjoying You as life. We want to live by You as our life. We take You as our life and as our everything! Amen!

How wonderful it is to know that only God is life, and that His life is the life that is really life! Amen!

This week in our prayerful consideration of what we as believers in Christ are according to the Word of God, we come to the most basic matter related to the believers: the eternal life.

We want to focus on, The Eternal Life—the Life of God with the Divine Nature, the Triune God Being the Structure of the Bible, and the Hidden God, a God Who Hides Himself.

On the one hand, thank the Lord that we are disciples of Christ, the believers in Christ, the saints of God, and Christians; all these are our denominations, the names given to us by the Word of God, especially in the New Testament.

On the other hand, the most basic matter related to both God and us is the eternal life.

The reason we call ourselves believers in Christ and children of God is that we have the eternal life of God. We don’t merely believe in an idea, an ideology, or a certain doctrine; we believe into Christ and we receive His eternal life.

We want to open to the Lord day by day to be under His fresh shining to see something new and applicable to our Christian life related to the eternal life.

We want to see what the life of God is with the divine nature.

We want to see something concerning the Triune God being the structure of the entire Bible, both of the Old and of the New Testament. And we want to see something concerning the hidden God, a God who hides Himself.

As believers in Christ, we don’t have Jesus here with us on earth; we have a hidden God, a God who hides Himself, and we believe into Him and fellowship with Him, even though He hides Himself and many times does not seem to be present.

May we be unveiled to see the eternal life and the hidden God, a God who hides Himself! Amen!

God’s Life is the Unique Life: only God’s life is Life, and we can Know and Receive God’s life!

Jesus said to him, I am the way and the reality and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6

What is the divine life? What differentiates us from the people around us, what makes us special as believers in Christ, is not our strength of character, our improvement in our behaviour, or our being more seeking or more pursuing than the others around us.

What causes us to stand out is the divine life, the life of God, which we have. The first and basic attribute of God can be considered to be the divine life. God is life; life is what God is.

God’s life is the unique life. If we look around us we see many kinds of life, such as the vegetable life, the animal life, and above all, the human life; all these are life, but the real life, the unique life is, the divine life.

The vegetable life, the animal life, and the human life are here, but tomorrow they are gone; the life that remains, the life that stands forever, even the life that was, is, and will forever be, is God’s life, God Himself as life.

God’s life is the unique life. Ephesians 4:18 is a unique verse in the Bible speaking to us concerning the life of God.

When we were unbelievers, when we were in sins and offenses, we were darkened in our understanding and we were alienated from the life of God.

Because of the ignorance which was in us, because of the hardness of our heart, we were alienated from the life of God; this is the case with all the unbelievers in Christ.

God is life, God has life, and God wants to dispense His life into us, for He flows as life from eternity to eternity, but if we do not receive Him, if we don’t repent and believe into the Lord Jesus, we cannot have His life.

Thank the Lord that, by His mercy, we believers in Christ had a turn, a change of mind, and an opening to the Lord as a reaction to seeing Christ through the gospel, and we have received Christ as life.

In the whole universe, only the life of God is life; only the life of God can actually be counted as life (1 John 5:12).

In the sight of God, only His life is life; therefore, when the life of God is mentioned in the New Testament, it is treated as if it is the unique life (John 1:4; 10:10; 11:25; 14:6).

The English translation of the New Testament mentions the word life many times, but only some of the mentions of life is actually referring to the life of God; in Greek, the word for life that refers to God’s life is zoe, the divine life, the eternal life. Thank the Lord that the life of God is the real life!

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 1:4 Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes into Me, even if he should die, shall live. John 11:25The life of God is uncreated, without beginning or ending, existing by itself, and it is ever, unchangeably existing. Hallelujah, what a life!

If we want to see whether man’s life is real, if we trace man’s life or any kind of life to see what is the source and whether it is real, we will realise that we human beings are here today but in a few years we are no longer here, and all the other animals and birds and plants will be gone too.

Only the life of God is real. From the standpoint of eternity, only the divine life is real, for only the life of God is real life.

In the Bible, eternal life is a great topic, for it is the greatest blessing that God gives us in His salvation.

According to the Bible, we can obtain the eternal life in this age, we can obtain the eternal life in the coming age of the kingdom, and we can enjoy the eternal life in eternity.

God is life, He dispenses His life into us, and we can enjoy Him as life both today, in the next age, and in eternity! Praise the Lord!

Lord Jesus, unveil us to see what life really is. May we realise that only God’s life is the unique life. Praise the Lord for the divine life, the first and the basic attribute of God! Amen, Lord, save us from having hardness of heart and ignorance regarding the life of God, the eternal life. May we know and see the life of God, the eternal life, and may we receive this life and live by this life. Amen, in the sight of God, only His life is life! Praise the Lord, the life of God is the eternal life, and this life is our today by faith in Christ! Wow, the life of God is uncreated, without beginning or ending, existing by itself, and ever, unchangeably existing! Amen, Lord, we want to see You, receive You, and enjoy You as life today! May we see that only God’s life is real life, and may we receive You more as life today. Praise the Lord, from the standpoint of eternity, only the life of God is life! Amen, Lord, be our life today! We want to take You as life and live by Your life in our daily living today! Amen!

We can Obtain Eternal Life, the life of God, by believing into the Lord Jesus, to have Eternal Life and Never Perish!

And this is the testimony, that God gave to us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. 1 John 5:11-12

Only the life of God is life, and God Himself is eternal life. However, many misunderstand the Bible and think that eternal life is a blessing we may receive in eternity; they do not think we can have or receive eternal life today.

But what the Bible says is that the eternal life was from the beginning (1 John 1:1) and this life is in Christ, the Son of God.

When we receive Christ, when we believe into the Lord Jesus, we receive eternal life.

We today can obtain eternal life, the life of God. This life of God is eternal, for God Himself is eternal, so His life is also eternal (1 John 1:2).

This eternal life was incarnated in Christ, for Christ is the embodiment of God as life; the life of God is in His Son (1 John 5:11-12). The life which is in the Son of God is the eternal life.

The New Testament tells us that the life of God was manifested and embodied in Christ, the Son of God; in Christ was God as life, and this life was the light of men (John 1:3).

Whoever believes into the Lord Jesus Christ receives Him as life; all believers in Christ have eternal life. Wow, we can obtain the eternal life of God!

We don’t have to do something to earn this life as a reward, nor do we have to behave in a certain way, improve our character, or do some great things to be qualified to receive eternal life.

The eternal life is a gift freely given to us in the Lord Jesus (Rom. 6:23). We don’t need to pay for it; as long as we believe into the Lord Jesus who came as God incarnated to be a man to redeem us out of love for us, we obtain eternal life.

How wonderful it is to know that God’s life, the eternal life, is God’s gift to us, even God’s free gift to all those who receive Him, and not a reward (1 John 5:11).

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that, whoever believes into Him, would not perish but would have eternal life (John 3:16).

Whoever believes into the Lord Jesus, even the vilest offender who truly believes, receives not only a pardon from Jesus but also the life of God, the eternal life.

The way for us to receive eternal life is to believe in the Son of God, Jesus Christ; as soon as we believe into Christ, we receive eternal life.

We don’t have to wait for us to receive God’s life; we don’t have to try our best to believe and convince ourselves that we have believed.

We simply react in love when we see the Lord Jesus presented to us in the gospel, and we repent and believe into the Lord Jesus; as soon as we believe into the Lord, we receive eternal life.

Eternal life is a gift given to us when we believe into the Lord Jesus; when we believe, we spontaneously obtain the Son of God, and we have the eternal life which is in the Son (John 3:36). Hallelujah! This is so simple and so easy!

This is why our preaching of the gospel shouldn’t be for us to convince others of their sins or cause them to be convicted of how bad and evil they are but to help them to receive the Lord Jesus as eternal life!

On the one hand, the Spirit operates in each and every person to convict them of their sins and sinfulness; on the other hand, we need to help many human beings to repent and believe into the Lord Jesus to receive eternal life.

When we hear the word of the gospel and believe into the Lord Jesus, we immediately have eternal life (John 5:24).

We don’t have to wait until some time in the future; we obtain the eternal life right here and right now! Hallelujah!

Whoever believes has eternal life! Praise the Lord! We do not have to wait, not even the slightest moment, for us to obtain eternal life; we simply believe and we are immediately given eternal life!

And I give to them eternal life, and they shall by no means perish forever, and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one can snatch them out of My Father's hand. John 10:28-29May we not listen to those who say that we can receive eternal life only in the next age, but not in the present age; may we believe the word of God clearly telling us that if we have the Son of God by faith in Him, we have the life (1 John 5:13).

By faith in Christ, we have His life, the eternal life, and we will never perish.

Our human body may perish, for it is subject to death and corruption, but our spiritual life, the eternal life we received from God in our spirit, will never perish!

Even more, not only do we have God’s life in us but we also are in the hands of the Lord and the Father, and no one can snatch us away (John 10:28-29).

God’s life, the eternal life, upholds us and supplies us inwardly, and the Lord’s and the Father’s hands protect us outwardly. We can never perish!

Nothing can take us out of the Father’s hands and nothing can cause us to perish when we have the eternal life of God in our spirit! Praise the Lord!

Lord Jesus, thank You for not only being life and having life but for imparting this life into us when we believe into You! Hallelujah, God loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son so that whoever believes into Him would not perish but have eternal life! Amen, Lord Jesus, we believe into You! We repent of our sins and we believe into Jesus Christ, the Son of God! Praise the Lord, God’s free gift to all those who believe into the Lord Jesus is eternal life! Hallelujah, we believers in Christ have the eternal life of God in us! Amen, Lord, may we see that, as soon as we believe into the Lord Jesus as the Son of God, we obtain the eternal life that is in the Son! Hallelujah, he who has the Son has the life! Wow, we believers in Christ have God’s eternal life in us, and we can never perish! Praise the Lord, we are in the hands of the Lord and of God, and nothing can snatch us out of His hands! Amen, Lord, may we see that we believers in Christ have the eternal life of God to uphold us inwardly and we have the Lord’s and the Father’s hands to protect us outwardly! Praise the Lord! Amen!
