we can know the True One with our regenerated spirit and with our mind enlightened by the Spirit

November 24, 2011 by aGodMan 5 Comments

we can know the True One with our regenerated spirit and with our mind enlightened by the Spirit [picture: morning sunshine]We need the Spirit of light to penetrate and shine in our understanding so that we may know what is the truth. We don’t just want to see the truth but to KNOW the truth. How do we know the divine truth, the divine reality?

1 John 5:20 says, “And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we might know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.”

We can know the Truth and the Reality by being in the True One, who is the truth and the reality!

The Son has come to give us an understanding

We can know the truth and the True One because the Son of God has come through incarnation, human living, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension, to give us an understanding!

Now we can have an understanding of Him who is true and we can know the true One! By the processes He went through, Christ expressed God and defined God, and by His becoming the life-giving Spirit to come into our spirit, He declares as the Spirit all that God is to us inwardly and subjectively!

The only way for us to know this reality is through the coming of the Lord Jesus to give us an understanding!

Our enlightened mind, the Spirit, and our regenerated spirit

How do we know the True One? Is it only in our mind (since the mind is related to understanding)? Or is it only in our spirit (since the true One is Spirit)? This understanding given to us by the incarnated Son of God is not just in our mind but it is in our mind enlightened and empowered by the Spirit of reality and with the exercise of our regenerated spirit. All these three are involved in this knowing and understanding – our enlightened mind, the Spirit of reality, and our regenerated spirit.

The Spirit of reality is in our spirit – He enlightens and empowers our mind that we may understand the divine things. When we exercise our mingled spirit, we can understand the divine things through our mind enlightened by the Spirit of reality! This is why the Apostle Paul prayed for a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the full knowledge of Him, that we may see (Eph. 1:17). The Spirit of reality which came into us at the time of our regeneration is shining on our mind to enlightened it – now we have an enlightened mind and a quickened spirit with the Spirit of reality, who reveals the spiritual reality to us!

The divine life has the ability to know God

In order for us to know a living being, we need to have the life of that being. In order for us to know God and understand God, we need to have the life of God. The divine life in us has the innate ability to know God and understand the divine things.

This knowing is not just a mental apprehension but it means that we can know God, enjoy God, experience God, and possess God. We don’t just “understand the fact” but we enjoy, experience, and possess the One who is True. Because we have the life of God in us, we can know God and understand God!

The anointing who abides with us teaches all things – and there’s no need for anyone to teach us anything, but the anointing which abides with us guides us into all the reality (1 John 2:27).

Our knowing of God is not by outward teaching or any comprehension by our human mind, but it is by the innate capacity of the divine life in us. We have the divine life in us by the Lord Jesus as the life-giving Spirit coming into us. This life teaches us all things, and by the exercise of our regenerated spirit we can know God!

It is God’s desire for His people to Know Him

It is God’s deepest desire that His people would know Him and enjoy Him. We need to pursue to know this One who is The True One. By the exercise of our regenerated spirit mingled with the Spirit of reality, our mind is enlightened that we may know God, enjoy God, and experience God.

This is the eternal life – that we may know Him, the only true God, and the One He has sent (John 17:3). God has sent the Lord Jesus to come and bring us an understanding – through His processes He came into us to enlighten us as the Spirit and give us the divine life to know God and understand God!

Lord, enlighten the eyes of our heart that we may see You and know You as the True One! May the Spirit of light shine and penetrate our understanding that we may know God. Praise You for the divine life in us – this life has the innate capacity and ability to know God. O, Lord, keep us exercising our spirit that we may have the Spirit of reality shine on us and enlighten our mind. We want to know God, enjoy God, and experience God!
