Triune God is the Structure of New Testament & the Functions of the Indwelling Spirit

October 22, 2026 by aGodMan Leave a Comment

The Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and remind you of all the things which I have said to you. John 14:26

It is amazing to see that the Triune God is the structure of the New Testament, and this Triune God is embodied in Christ and realised as the Spirit to indwell us; according to the revelation of the Bible, the indwelling Spirit in us has at least six main functions to saturate us with God and dispense God into us.

Lord Jesus, unveil us to see how the Triune God is the structure of the New Testament. May we read the Bible not only to get more knowledge but to gain more of God! We open to You, dear Lord! We open to Your divine dispensing. Thank You for being in us as the Spirit of reality, the indwelling Spirit, to dispense God into our being. Hallelujah, the Son sent the Spirit in the name of the Father to be with us, even to indwell us, and teach us all things! Amen!

We believers in Christ are those who are regenerated by God with His life and nature; He is in us as the eternal life. Wow, we human beings who were born again now have the life of God in us, and we will never perish! In this age, we can receive and enjoy eternal life, and we can even live by this life.

If we live by the divine life today, if we exercise not to live by our natural human life but by God’s life in our spirit, we will be rewarded with obtaining eternal life in the coming age. The Lord will give us a foretaste of the New Jerusalem in the next age if we are His overcoming saints today. Amen!

And for eternity, we will not only live forever one with the Lord but even more, we will enjoy eternal life for eternity! Praise the Lord! What a glorious destiny we have!

In this life we received at regeneration there is the divine nature; we are now partakers of the divine nature. As we exercise our spirit to touch the Lord, we develop the divine nature.

What God is in His nature – love, light, and Spirit – is constituted into our being to make us love, light, and spiritual men.

May we be those who partake of the divine nature today, those who participate in the divine nature. May we enjoy God and partake of the riches of His being so that we may be constituted with the divine nature and become the same as God in life and in nature but not in the Godhead. Amen!

The Triune God is the Structure of the New Testament for our Enjoyment and Experience

Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father! Gal. 4:6

The New Testament does not explicitly say that the Triune God is the structure of the New Testament, for there is no verse that says this; however, in verse after verse what we see is the Triune God being the structure of the New Testament.

Matthew 12:28 says, “If I, by the Spirit of God, cast out the demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.” It was not just Christ who did this or that but Christ by the Spirit for the glory of God the Father.

In Matthew 28:19 the Lord Jesus told us, “Disciple all the nations, baptising them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” We believers in Christ are here not just to live our Christian life to the best of our ability until Jesus comes again; we need to disciple the nations, baptising them into the Triune God. Amen!

And our rich supply to live the Christian life is seen in John 14:26 which says, “The Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and remind you of all the things which I have said to you.” God in Christ as the Spirit is in us as the indwelling Spirit. It is not just the Spirit but the Spirit sent by the Son in the name of the Father.

John 15:26 further says, “When the Comforter comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of reality, who proceeds from the Father, He will testify concerning Me.” Hallelujah, the Spirit of reality is in us with the Father and the Son; the entire Triune God is in us!

Acts 2:33a says, “Having been exalted to the right hand of God and having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father.” It was not just Christ who ascended and then the Spirit came; rather, the exalted Christ sent the Holy Spirit from the Father; the Triune God in Christ as the Spirit is in us for our enjoyment and experience today.

Romans 8:11 confirms this, “If the Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who indwells you.” The Spirit is in us; this Spirit is in our spirit, and when we set our mind on the spirit, our mind becomes life and peace.

Even more, the Spirit spreads from our spirit into our soul and even into our body. The Lord is saturating even our mortal body with His Spirit to conform it to the body of His glory.

If the Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who indwells you. Rom. 8:11As Galatians 4:6 says, “Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father!” We cry, Dear Father! God, our Daddy! God is our Father, and we love Him!

As the Father, He works in us, as Paul said in Ephesians 3:16-17, “That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit into the inner man, that Christ may make His home in your hearts through faith.”

He is making His home in our heart to saturate us with the Triune God. Ephesians 4:4-6 says, “One Spirit…one Lord…one God and Father.” There is one Triune God, the Father, the Son, and the Spirit, and He is in us.

As we open to Him and touch Him, “How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (see Heb. 9:14). We can apply His blood.

Thank the Lord that we are “Chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father in the sanctification of the Spirit unto the obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ” (1 Pet. 1:2a). Amen!

Finally, Rev. 1:4b-5a says, “Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is coming, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful Witness, the Firstborn of the dead, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth.” This is our Triune God, the structure of the New Testament for our experience and enjoyment today.

Lord Jesus, unveil us to see that the Triune God is the structure of the New Testament for our experience and enjoyment today. Hallelujah, the Son sent the Spirit in the name of the Father to be with us and teach us all things. Praise the Lord, we are sent by Christ to go and disciple all the nations, baptising them into the Triune God! Amen, Lord, we open to You; You are the indwelling Spirit of reality who testifies of all things concerning Christ and God. Praise the Lord, the Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us to give life to our mortal bodies through the Spirit! Amen, Father God, we love You! Thank You for sending forth the Spirit of Your Son into our hearts crying, Abba, Father! Praise the Lord, the Father strengthens us into our inner man through the Spirit so that Christ may make His home in our heart through faith! Amen, Lord, we want to enjoy and experience You in our spirit today! We apply the blood of Christ who offered Himself through the eternal Spirit without blemish to God. Praise the Lord!

Six Wonderful Functions of the Indwelling Spirit according to the Revelation of the Bible

When the Comforter comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of reality, who proceeds from the Father, He will testify concerning Me. John 15:26

The Triune God embodied in Christ is in us as the Spirit, the indwelling Spirit; according to the revelation of the Bible, the indwelling Spirit in us has six main functions – six wonderful functions.

First, the Spirit enters into us for our existence, being, life, and living as Christians; He is the essential Spirit for our being a Christian and living a Christian life. The Spirit is the consummation of the processed Triune God, for He is the life-giving Spirit whom Christ became in His resurrection (1 Cor. 15:45).

As such a Spirit, He enters into us, into all those who believe into Christ (John 20:22) and He lives in us to be the very essence of the divine life, nature, and being within us. Hallelujah, the essential Spirit is in us for our Christian life!

Second, the Spirit enters into us as the Spirit of life (Rom. 8:2). The indwelling Spirit is us as the Spirit of life. The contents of the Divine Trinity is life; when the Spirit of life enters into us, He imparts the eternal life of God into us to be our life.

He gradually spreads as life from our spirit into our mind, emotion, and will, and He will even spread into our body to fill our entire being with the divine life!

We believers in Christ are being sanctified and saturated by the indwelling Spirit of life until our spirit, soul, and body will be conformed to the image of the firstborn Son of God (Rom. 8:29) to be the many sons of God as His corporate expression! Praise the Lord!

Third, the Holy Spirit enters into us as the seal (Eph. 1:13; 4:20; 2 Cor. 1:22). We are sealed with the Holy Spirit. This means that the Holy Spirit marks us as a living seal, indicating that we belong to God.

All believers in Christ are sealed with the Holy Spirit to be God’s inheritance; we now belong to God, we are His, and when others see us, they see Christ. Hallelujah!

Also, this sealing spreads from our spirit to our mind, emotion, and will to sanctify and transform our soul. Even our body will eventually be sealed; that is, even our body will be saturated and transfigured at the time of the redemption of our body! Praise the Lord!

Fourth, the Holy Spirit is the pledge of our inheritance (Eph. 1:14; 2 Cor. 1:22; 5:5). On the one hand, we are God’s inheritance, being sealed by the Holy Spirit; on the other hand, God is our inheritance, and He gave us the Spirit as a pledge. God and we are a mutual inheritance.

We can enjoy the indwelling Spirit as the pledge of our inheritance, a sample of the full taste we will have of God in eternity! Amen!

Fifth, the Holy Spirit is the indwelling Spirit (Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 6:19). The Son, Christ, came to be the embodiment of God, expressing God in full. Then the Son promised that, when the Holy Spirit comes, He will indwell the believers in Christ (John 14:17).

Then, on the night of His resurrection, Christ came into the midst of the disciples and breathed into them so that they may receive the Holy Spirit (20:22). The indwelling Spirit comes into us not merely to visit us but to dwell in us, settle down in us, and make His home in us.

The indwelling Spirit is in us to occupy our whole being. He reveals God and Christ to us so that we may receive and enjoy all the riches of God in Christ. What a wonderful Spirit we have dwelling in us!

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may be with you forever, even the Spirit of reality, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him; but you know Him, because He abides with you and shall be in you. John 14:16-17As long as we turn to Him by calling on the Lord’s name, fellowshipping with the Lord, pray-reading His word, and opening to Him, we enjoy the indwelling Spirit leading us in all things, saturating us with what Christ is, and transforming us into the image of Christ. Amen!

Sixth, the indwelling Spirit in us is the reality of Christ (see John 14:16-20). Jesus said that He has to go through death and resurrection, but He will return as the Spirit to be the Comforter; now the Spirit is the embodiment of Christ.

The Spirit is not separate or different from Christ; the Spirit who indwells us is the Christ who died and was resurrected, and who now indwells us. The Comforter, the Holy Spirit, was sent by the Son from the Father in the name of the Son.

The Spirit indwells us, the believers in Christ, to glorify Christ and to make Christ real in us (John 16:12-15).

Here we see again the Triune God being the structure of the New Testament for our enjoyment and experience. All that God has is embodied in Christ the Son (Col. 2:9; John 16:15).

All that Christ is and has, is received by the Spirit and is revealed to us, the believers in Christ, through the Spirit (vv. 14-15). Now we have the indwelling Spirit, who is Christ, the embodiment of God. Hallelujah!

Lord Jesus, thank You for coming into us as the Spirit to dwell in us and be everything to us! Hallelujah, Christ as the last Adam became a life-giving Spirit to come into our spirit and be joined to our spirit as one! Praise the Lord, the Spirit of life is in us to impart the divine life to our spirit, soul, and body and make us God’s corporate expression! Wow, we believers in Christ are sealed with the Holy Spirit: we’re marked with the Holy Spirit as a living seal to indicate that we belong to God! Praise the Lord, we are God’s inheritance, and God is our inheritance. Thank You, Lord, for giving us the Spirit as the pledge of our inheritance; we can now have a foretaste of the full taste of God! Amen, Lord, we love You as the indwelling Spirit. Thank You for not leaving us orphans but coming to us as the Spirit to indwell us, make Your home in us, even to occupy our whole being. We open to You as the Spirit: may Christ be real to us and may Christ live in us! Amen, Lord, we love You as the indwelling Spirit! Amen!
