Let us pray for the saints to see that the way to bind the strong man is through prayer and fasting

And when they came to the crowd, a man came to Him, falling on his knees before Him and saying, Lord, have mercy on my son, for he has epilepsy and suffers terribly; for often he falls into the fire and often into the water. And I brought him to Your disciples, and they were not able to heal him. And Jesus answered and said, O unbelieving and perverted generation! How long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me. And Jesus rebuked it, and the demon came out from him, and the boy was healed from that hour. Then the disciples, coming to Jesus privately, said, Why were we not able to cast it out? And He said to them, Because of your little faith; for truly I say to you, If you have faith like a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move, and nothing will be impossible to you. But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting. Matt. 17:14-21

Dear saints, let us pray that the saints would see that the way to bind the strong man for the plundering of sinners out of his house is mainly by prayer and fasting (Matt. 17:14-21). The way to bind the strong man is to pray. When we come to [Matthew] seventeen, we shall see that […]

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens…Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Matt. 5:3, 8

Dear saints, let us pray that the saints would realize that the seed of Christ is sown through the gospel into human hearts and would pray for people’s hearts to become the good earth to receive the gospel seed (Matt. 13:18-23; 5:3, 8; John 4:36-37). [Matthew 13:8] says, “And others fell on the good earth […]

our repentance and confession marries God’s forgiveness to produce something for God’s building

October 10, 2011 by aGodMan 1 Comment

In a way, if in our Christian life we didn’t have a great failure – something that we do which makes the other saints shake their head when they think about it – we cannot say we have experienced a great repentance matched by God’s forgiveness… No, we don’t want to say, Let us do evil so that good may later come. We don’t want to tempt God nor do we desire to willingly fail, but we may fail and commit a great sin – we may have a great failure – and there will be a deep repentance that will follow.
