We believers in Christ are symbolised by the wheat of life, which will be gathered into the Lord’s barn at the time of our rapture, and today we are learning to take care of the living Christ in us, not being ignorant of His inner speaking, and paying more attention to His life in us than any other activities.
Lord Jesus, we love You! Thank You for regenerating us with God’s life to make us like wheat, grains full of life, which You will reap and bring into Your barn at Your coming! Amen, Lord, we want to grow in life today. We want to know You as life. May we pay more attention to the living Christ within than to any outward activities. Oh Lord Jesus, may Your life flow in us in an unhindered way. We are willing to deal with any obstacles in our being so that Your life may flow! Amen!
This week in our prayerful consideration of what the Bible shows us that we are as believers we want to focus on a few symbols and types such as, The Wheat of Life, the Good Seed, the Salt of the Earth, the Light of the World, and the Fishers of Men.
For us to see what we are, for us to enter into the reality of the symbols the Bible speaks of, we need the Lord’s light. We need His living light to scatter all our night and make everything bright.
We need to pray in particular with an open heart, even an earnest desire for light. We need to pray for the Lord to shine on us and show us where we are, what we are, and how can we go on with Him.
We need the Lord’s gracious visitation, the coming of the divine life with the divine mercies; His mercies are needed, and His light is required.
We need the light that is from God, that is, the true light, the light that is Christ Himself. It is not our fabricated light or our contrived light, but the light from God, who is light itself in this universe.
May we have the Lord’s abundant mercies for us to see the Lord, see who we are, and live in a particular way.
On the one hand, what we are is something wonderful and glorious, for we are the wheat of life, the good seed, the salt of the earth, the light of the world, and the fishers of man. Wonderful!
However, for us to be such ones, for us to be in reality the wheat of life with God’s life flowing in us unhindered, the good seed for the Lord to grow in us, the salt of the earth to sanctify the atmosphere around us, the light of the world having Christ as light shining through us, and the fishers of men to catch men alive for God’s kingdom, we need to deal with many things in our being.
May we open to the Lord and cooperate with Him in this process so that we may be what He wants us to be according to His word.
We Believers in Christ are Symbolised by the Wheat of Life, which will be Gathered into the Lord’s Barn

According to Matthew 3:11-12, the believers are symbolised by the wheat of life, which will be gathered into the Lord’s barn. In this chapter, the Lord speaks of how the Lord will cleanse the threshing floor and will gather His wheat into the barn.
As seen in Matthew 13, when the sower slept, the enemy came in and sowed tares in the midst of the wheat, and both grew together. The wheat and the tares look alike; the master told his slaves not to remove the tares but to let them grow together until the harvest time.
Then, when the harvest comes, the tares will be gathered and bound together in bundles, and they are burned up, but the wheat is gathered into the barn.
The tares are the things without life, and strictly speaking, they refer to the unrepentant Jews and the so-called nominal Christians, those who are believers only in name but not in reality.
There’s an abundance of such ones in Christendom. However, we believers in Christ are as the wheat of life; we have the divine life into us, for this life is God Himself enjoyed by man (Psa. 36:7-9; John 1:4; 10:10; 14:6; 6:63).
The difference between nominal Christians and real Christians is that the real Christians have God as life in them, and they enjoy God as life day by day.
We believers in Christ are symbolised by the wheat of life; we are regenerated with God’s life, and we enjoy the divine life day by day.
We come to the Lord as the fountain of life, we drink of the river of His pleasures, and in His light we see light. He is our life and our light, and He came to give us life, even to give us life abundantly.
What is this life that we have and makes us wheat of life? It is the divine life, God Himself in Christ as the Spirit, to be enjoyed and experienced by man.
The Lord Jesus came and said that He is the way and the reality and the life. And then He said that the words He speaks to us are spirit and are life; as we eat His words, we receive Spirit and life.
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. In this universe, only God is life, and He went through a process to become a life-giving Spirit. Now we can enjoy God as life by exercising our spirit and coming to His word. God is life; with Him there is the fountain of life.
Christ came and in Him was life, and this life was the light of men. It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing.
Real life is the Triune God who went thorugh a process to become a life-giving Spirit in our spirit. We believers in Christ were not born of God at the time of our birth from our parents; rather, we were born in sins and offenses, alienated from the life of God.
We were dead people walking until one day the gospel reached us and the Lord touched us.
When we heard the Lord’s speaking and turned to Him, repented and believed into Him, we were regenerated with God’s life.
Now we are wheat of life, grains of wheat full of life, and we enjoy God in Christ as the Spirit as life. We believers in Christ are no longer dead in sins and offenses; now we are full of life. We are alive and full of life, for Christ as life lives in us and He moves in us.
We enjoy Him. We love Him. We open to Him. We have been born of water and of the Spirit (John 3:5) and we are children of God.
We want to live one spirit with Him, enjoying Him as life, partaking of His riches in spirit, and being one with Him in all things so that He may gather us into His barn as the wheat of life! Amen!
Lord Jesus, thank You for having mercy on us, those who were dead in sins and offenses. Thank You for regenerating us with Your life to make us children of God, the wheat of life! Hallelujah, we believers in Christ have God’s life in us, and we are living, full of life! Amen, Lord, we want to enjoy You as life today. Wow, God is the fountain of life, Christ came to be life and give us life, and the Spirit gives life! Amen, Lord, we come to You to enjoy You as life. We come to partake of Your riches in spirit. We want to be in reality the wheat of life, those who enjoy Christ as life, live by Christ as life, and minister life to others. Oh Lord, we come to You in Your word with the exercise of our spirit to enjoy and partake of You as life. May we realise that it is the Spirit who gives life, and the Spirit is joined with our spirit and the Spirit is also embodied in the Word! Praise the Lord, we have God’s life in us, we are the wheat of life, and we will be gathered into the Lord’s barn! Amen!
Deal with Ignorance and Hypocrisy by Taking Care of the Living Christ in us in All Things

As believers in Christ, we are symbolised by the wheat of life; we have God’s life in addition to our natural life, and now we learn to enjoy and live by Christ as life.
However, if we want to be the wheat of life in reality, if we want to live by God’s life in us, we need to realise that everything in us is opposed to God’s life.
If we want the life of Christ to be unhindered in us, we must experience the breaking of the cross, the killing death of Christ in the all-inclusive Spirit.
As we turn to our spirit and touch the Lord, we realise that there are many obstacles to the life of God in us. For God’s life to grow in us, occupy us, and fill us, we need to deal with many hindrances.
We need to experience the breaking of the cross, that is, the killing death of Christ in the all-inclusive Spirit in our spirit.
There are at least four major obstacles to God’s life in us. Christ as life is in us as the life-giving Spirit; He is our life, but for Him to live in us, we need to take care of the living Christ in us in all things.
There is another person in us: Christ lives in us. Our life is not us, not the self, and not the emotional life; our life is Christ.
May we take care of any obstacles in the way of Christ living in us.
Being a Christian means taking care of the living Christ in us. Being a Christian means not taking anything other than Christ as our aim (Matt. 7:13-14; Phil. 3:8-14; Col. 3:4; Rom. 8:28-29).
However, the biggest obstacle to this is not knowing the pathway of life and not taking Christ as our life. We are ignorant of God’s life in us; this is the first obstacle. We need to deal with this ignorance.
Our Christian life is not us trying to please God but it is Christ living in us; we need to take care of the living Christ in us in all things. Our human concepts are full of darkness, and they prevent us from knowing life and Christ.
We may think that now that we are a Christian with God’s life in us, we should be zealous and preach the gospel; however, when we fellowship with the Lord, we sense that the living Christ in us wants us to do something else.
He constantly moves and works in us, and He gives us a feeling concerning what we do, what we say, and the way we live.
For example, as the Lord moves in us, as He operates in us, He may show us that some of the things we did yesterday or earlier in the past are not appropriate. We may have been mean with our spouse, we may have complained, and we may have treated someone in a mean way.
The Lord’s life within us gives us a sense that we should apologise to them and repent to the Lord.
If we take care of the living Christ in us, we will go and apologise to that person, being truly sorry about the way we treated them or what we said to them in the past.
We may lose our face when we do this, but we gain more of Christ as life within us. However, as Christians, we may think that we should be zealous and industrious in doing things for the Lord, and working for God.
Of course we need to do this, but first of all, we need to take care of the living Christ in us; if we don’t pay attention to Christ, no matter what we do, it is just a work, but it is not of Him.
If we don’t take care of the living Christ in us, we may be doing all kinds of activities outwardly, but His life will have no way in us.
There are Christian ethics, Christian morality, Christian work, and Christian endeavour everywhere today, but seldom do we find life, the Christian life, the growth of God’s life in us.
If we genuinely love the Lord and care for Him, He will give us a sense concerning how we spoke to others, how we dealt with them, and how we treated them; we will go and repent, and the Lord will have more ground in us.
He will have more ground to speak to us, spread in us, and grow in us.
The second obstacle to the growth in life is hypocrisy; our spirituality is NOT determined by our outward appearance but how we take care of Christ (Matt. 6:1-6; 15:7-8; John 5:44; 12:42-43; cf. Josh. 7:21).
We may speak slowly, walk deliberately, and give others an impression that we are spiritual and subdued, but what matters is how we take care of the living Christ within us.
We may be gentle, compassionate, kind, and uncontentious; all these are good things, but if they don’t come from our enjoyment and experience of Christ as life, they are natural, and they are an obstacle to God’s life in us.
Anything that is not of God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit, is not life; regardless how much a person has a high standard of morality, ethics, and culture, without Christ as life being expressed through him, that is not life. For us to be in reality the wheat of life, we need to take care of the living Christ in us.
Lord Jesus, we love You and we want to be in reality the wheat of life, those who care for the living Christ in us more than for any outward activity. Hallelujah, being a Christian means taking care of the living Christ in us and not taking anything other than Christ as our aim! Amen, Lord, may we know the pathway of life and take Christ as our life. May we pay more attention to the inward Christ, the Christ living in us, than to doing things for Christ. We turn to You. We love You. We want to care for the living Christ within us. We want to follow Your leading within. Speak to us, Lord. Save us from any hypocrisy. Save us from trying to put on a certain behaviour according to what we think a Christian should be. May we be genuine with You and open to You, allowing You to live in us as we pay attention and care for the living Christ within us. Amen, Lord, may we not try to improve our living but turn to You, care for the living Christ within us, and do all things in oneness with Christ and according to the living Christ within us! Amen!

– Remove my covering, Lord, / That I may see Thy light, / And be deceived no more, / But all things see aright. / Oh, may Thy living light, Lord, / Scatter all my night, Lord, / And everything make bright, Lord, / For this I pray to Thee. (Hymns #426 stanza 1 and chorus)
– We have the triune God indwelling us, / Living and acting, working all the time, / That by the inner sense we have of Him / God we may know in magnitude sublime. / This inner knowledge obviates the need / Of outward knowledge, human eloquence, / But in the spirit we must ever live / And walk according to the inner sense. (Hymns #739 stanzas 5-6)
– Th’⠀anointing’s here! It teaches us in everything; / The sense of life we always have within. / Obey this sense, and you will know what you must do, / And live by Life—Yes, clear in everything. (Hymns #1118 stanza 3)
