The significance of the parable in Luke 18:1-8 is profound, and we need to know God as He is revealed, as the hidden God, who is our Husband who apparently is absent now, and we are like a widow, yet we need to pray persistently, bothering Him again and again, and keeping the faith until He comes, for He as the Son of Man will come to find faith on earth, the linking faith.
Lord Jesus, unveil us to see and know God as He is revealed in the Word, as the hidden God. May we realise that our God is present, even though He is hidden. Amen, Lord, make us those who have faith and pray persistently until You come and avenge us, as You bring in Your kingdom and deal with Your enemy. Lord Jesus, may we develop the linking faith, the faith that comes into us through our contacting the Triune God continually so that we may live by the Son of God! Amen!
This week in our prayerful consideration of what the Bible tells us concerning us, the believers in Christ, we were enjoying the matters of eternal life – the life of God with the divine nature, the Triune God being the structure of the Bible, and the hidden God – a God who hides Himself.
The first and the basic attribute of God is the divine life, which is the unique life, the eternal life. We believers in Christ have received Christ as life, and we have eternal life; we have the life that is really life.
We obtained eternal life at the time of our believing in Christ, and we enjoy and live by this divine life in our spirit.
If we today live by the divine life and are produced as the Lord’s overcomers, we will obtain eternal life in the coming age.
And for eternity, we will enjoy eternal life as our blessing in the New Jerusalem, for we will drink the water of life, eat the tree of life, and enjoy the Triune God as life for eternity. Hallelujah!
Today we enjoy the divine life and we are partakers of the divine nature. Praise the Lord! The Triune God is dispensing Himself into us today to produce the organic Body of Christ.
The entire New Testament has the Triune God as its structure. God the Father is the source, Christ the Son is the course and coming of the Triune God, and the Spirit is the realisation of the Father with the Son. Now we enjoy the Triune God dispensing Himself into us!
As we enjoy Christ, He is a God who hides Himself. He is the hidden God.
When we look at what He does, how He is, and the kind of temperament He has, we realise that He is a hiding God, a God who hides Himself. Praise the Lord, we can know, trust, and experience God as the hidden God! Amen!
Although God Appears to be Unrighteous or Absent today, we Still must Appeal to Him, Pray Persistently, and Bother Him until He Comes and Avenges us

Our God is a hidden God. Even more, as we see in Luke 18, the Lord gave us a parable to the end that we always ought to pray and not lose heart; we see that God appears to be unrighteous or absent today, even though we pray persistently.
The significance of the parable in Luke 18:1-8 is profound, and we need to know God as He is revealed, as the hidden God.
We need to know God as He is revealed; He is revealed as the hidden God, and He does things secretly, as the hiding God.
There was a widow there in Luke 18 in the parable, who signifies the believers; she was very much bothered by her opponent, and she kept going to a particular judge to do her justice, for she was so bothered.
However, the judge was unrighteous, and he didn’t fear God or man; however, because this widow bothered him so many times, wearing him out, he said he would take her case and do her justice.
We believers in Christ are like a widow in this present age, because our Husband, Christ, is apparently absent from us (2 Cor. 11:2). Our opponent is Satan, the devil, concerning whom we need God’s avenging.
We ought to pray persistently for this avenging (see Rev. 6:9-10), and we should pray and not lose heart. In Luke 18:4 we see that the judge would not avenge the widow of her opponent for a time, yet he said in verse 5 that he will avenge her, lest she wear him out.
Hear what the unrighteous judge says? Will not God by all means carry out the avenging of His people, His chosen ones, who cry to Him day and night, though He is long-suffering over them?
The Lord seems to be absent, not responding to our prayers, not avenging us, and not judging the evil one with his people; He is our Husband, but He is not here with us, but we pray unceasingly.
The Lord will come and avenge us, but we need to pray persistently. We need to pray persistently. Not only once or twice, not just when we remember, but persistently. He is not absent; He is not unrighteous; He is not deaf.
Rather, He is a hidden God, a hiding God, and He will come soon to judge the enemy and avenge us, so we pray persistently.
We may pray for a certain situation or a particular person for many years, even twenty years or more, and we may not see anything change; we need to pray persistently.
We need to pray persistently, not for what we think we should pray but for the Lord’s interest. We need to pray genuine prayers from the Lord and one with the Lord.
We need to pray persistently and go on praying until the Lord manifests Himself. God is still hiding, but He is receiving our prayers in ways we don’t know. He will avenge us in His time and in His way, and the enemy will be put to shame, and God will be glorified.
When our Husband is apparently absent and we are left here on earth as a widow, temporarily our God seems to be an unrighteous Judge.
It seems that, even though we pray for Him to avenge us and deal with the enemy and his works, there is nothing that is happening.
We pray and pray and pray, but nothing seems to happen.
Although God appears to be unrighteous, we must appeal to Him, pray persistently, and bother Him again and again, for He will carry out quickly the avenging of His chosen ones, who “cry to Him day and night” (Luke 18:7-8).
The Lord is pleased to be bothered by us. Our persistent prayer is precious to Him.
When we tell Him we depend on Him, we need Him, and we want Him to carry out His will, even to accomplish what He said He will do in His word, this is very pleasing to Him.
He is hiding right now, but He wants us to pray persistently, grow in life unto maturity to be rapture-ready, and be prepared to end this age. The truth is that the Triune God is for man’s enjoyment.
However, the fallen human race has no concept of this whatsoever; people today have no sense concerning it all.
Look around us; the people of this world are busy with marrying and giving in marriage, with buying and selling, wth planting and building (Luke 17:27-28).
People today have no thought concerning God being their enjoyment; they have been drugged and stupefied. This is why we are told to hate the things of this generation; we need to hate and deny our soul life, and hate anything that distracts us from the enjoyment of Christ.
As we live in this evil generation, in this drugged and stupefied generation, we need to enjoy God as our divine inheritance, and we need to pray persistently for the Lord to avenge us.
On the negative side, we reject, deny, and stay away from the things of this evil and stupefied generation. On the positive side, we pray persistently for the Lord to avenge us, even for Him to do what He wants to do.
As we are seeking the Lord, we need to hate and reject anything that frustrates us from enjoying Him, and enjoy the Lord; we even pray persistently for the Lord to come in and deal with His enemy, for our enemy stands against us as we stand one with the Lord.
Even though it seems that God is not righteous, for He allows His children to be unrighteously persecuted, we appeal to Him, we pray persistently, and we stand for His interest.
Lord Jesus, we want to be those who always pray and not lose heart. Amen, Lord, we come to You again and again to pray persistently. We pray one with You for You to come in and avenge us. You see what the situation is today. You see the evil and stupefied generation we live in. You see how the enemy is persecuting us, wearing us down, and waging war against us. Oh Lord, come in and avenge us! Lord, we want to see Your economy carried out and we want to hasten Your return with Your kingdom! Amen, Lord, even though You seem to be absent and unrighteous, we appeal to You! Even though it seems that You do not answer our persistent prayer, we still come to You and pray, not losing heart! Oh Lord, as we live in this stupefied generation, this evil generation, we reject and deny our soul-life, we stand against the enemy’s attacks, and we pray persistently! Amen, Lord, avenge us against the enemy! Come and bring in Your kingdom! May Your kingdom come and Your will be done! We stand one with You on earth for Your kingdom to come and Your will to be done! Amen!
Being the Overcomers Living by the Linking Faith who Meet Christ in His Triumphant Return

In Luke 18:8 the Lord Jesus concludes His word concerning praying persistently by saying, When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?
This is a very crucial verse; it is as if He is saying, Will I find faith on the earth when I come to rapture the saints? Where will the Lord find faith when He returns to the earth to rapture the overcomers?
As we are learning to pray persistently day by day, even moment by moment, we need to say, Amen, Lord, You WILL find faith ion the earth because You are the source of our faith and You keep us praying persistently.
Before the Lord returns, our faith is challenged to see whether it is real or not. The Lord tests our faith to see whether it is shallow or deep, whether we see something or not.
We think we have faith, and we think we are praying; however, we need to continue praying, even pray persistently, and pray one with the Lord.
Literally, the Greek words rendered “faith” mean “the faith”; this denotes the persistent faith for our persistent prayer, like that of the widow.
On the one hand, we have faith, for the faith through which we were saved is the initial stage of faith.
By faith in Christ, this faith brought us into a life union wth Christ is the linking faith – the faith that comes into us through our contacting the Triune God continually so that we may live by the Son of God (Rom. 1:17; Gal. 2:20; John 14:19).
We are joined to the Triune God by faith; this faith is of God, for it is God in Christ being infused into us.
Christ is the linking faith coming into to make us one with the Lord. Faith joins us with the Triune God; faith is linking us with God, for it is a linking faith.
The linking faith is the divine requirement for the overcomers to meet Christ in His return (Luke 18:8).
Christ as the Son of Man comes to rapture His overcomers, and we are praying persistently; we pray in faith, and we develop our linking faith.
For us to be ready for the Lord’s return, we need to have the linking faith. We want to meet the Lord in His triumphant return, being one with Him to bring Him back.
The linking faith is not something visible; it is something that is not seen, but it is developing. As we are praying persistently, the linking faith is being developed.
Linking faith is the Triune God moving in us to link us to His unsearchable riches (Eph. 3:8).
At the same time, linking faith is the faith of the believers who have no trust in themselves; rather, their trust is in God (2 Cor. 1:9). We have this linking faith. We need to make a tender prayer request to the Lord, asking Him to give us more of the linking faith.
Linking faith is the faith of the believers who have no trust in themselves; our trust is in God. We no longer trust in ourselves for anything but we trust in God for everything.
We experience Him, we trust in Him, and we don’t live by our feelings; we ask the Lord to strengthen us in our faith.
When the Lord Jesus returns, He will find a number of overcomers who are living by the linking faith and will regard them as treasures for His kingdom in the thousand years of His reign (Luke 18:8; Rev. 20:4, 6).
We want to be such ones. We want to experience and live out the divine life, and we know God as the hidden God.
The outcome of knowing and experiencing and living by the hidden God for a length of time, we will become a treasure to Him in His kingdom, and He will return to take us.
May we be those living by the linking faith today. May we cooperate with Him, realising He is everything and we are nothing. May we respond to Him and pray,
Lord Jesus, we give ourselves to You today. Thank You for saving us by faith! Hallelujah, we have an organic union with the Lord by faith, for our faith links us to the Triune God! Amen, Lord, we come to contact You again and again, even continually, so that we may be filled with faith, the linking faith! Lord Jesus, keep us touching You. Keep us praying persistently until we touch Your heart, release what is on Your heart, and are one with You. May we live by faith and remain in the linking faith. We open to You, Lord: move in us to link us to the unsearchable riches of Christ! We do not trust in ourselves. We are nothing and we can do nothing. Amen, Lord, our trust is in You. We pray persistently for Your will to be done and for Your kingdom to come. May we be the overcomers who are living by the linking faith today and day by day! Amen, Lord, may You find us living by the linking faith when You return so that You may regard us as treasures for Your kingdom in the thousand years of Your reign! Amen!

– Here may we prove the power of prayer / To strengthen faith and sweeten care; / To teach our faint desires to rise, / And bring Thy light before our eyes. / Lord, we are few, but Thou art near; / Nor short Thine arm, nor deaf Thine ear; / Oh, rend the heavens, come quickly down, / And make our waiting hearts Thine own. (Hymns #862 stanza 4-5)
– Pray with one accord in spirit, / Pray and watch persistently; / For God’s kingdom and His glory, / Pray and watch in harmony. / Pray with one accord in spirit / Seeking God in unity; / In the Spirit of the Body / Ever pray in harmony. (Hymns #779 stanzas 5-6)
– “Ask in faith,” for God is waiting / For thy faith-filled, earnest prayer. / Faith delights Him; faith can touch Him, / Every moment, everywhere. (Hymns #776 stanza 4)

We believers in Christ need to realise that, even though it seems that God does not answer our prayer, He wants us to pray persistently, even to pray one with Him for His interest to be carried out on earth and for Him to avenge us.
He seems to be an unrighteous Judge, for He may not do much outwardly to avenge us, but we pray persistently, and He will do it. May we have the linking faith and live by this faith!
Even though we know that the Lord will avenge us at His coming, we must still pray persistently for this avenging, for this brings us into oneness with our God.
Like God, we must hate the things of this generation, hate our own soul-life, and anything/any matter that distracts us from the enjoyment of Christ.
Whilst we wait for our absent Husband, we must still appeal to Him, pray persistently and bother Him again & again…
