The Self is the Enemy of the Body and the Greatest Hindrance to Building up the Body

August 14, 2014 by aGodMan 1 Comment

The hindrance to seeing the vision of the Body and to practicing the Body life is the self.

We need the Lord’s mercy in order to see the vision of the self so that we may deny it, abhor it, and repudiate it, identifying ourselves with Christ and with the Body of Christ and rejecting our self. Toward God, the self is independent. Toward ourselves, the self is our soul life being expressed, […]

Seeing the Great Importance of Life and the Desperate Need to Grow in Life

We need to see the importance of life and of the growth in life in our Christian life and church life. We may know the truth, we may love the Lord and read His word, and we may love the church and serve the saints in the Lord, but how much did we gain the […]

the kind of person we are determines the kind of fruit that we produce

In the Lord’s work the principle is that before we can do anything for the Lord we need to allow Him to work Himself into us. The result is not that “we work for the Lord” but that “we work with the Lord” and even “we are the Lord’s work”. We should not do things […]

working with the Lord for the Body and not doing our own personal work

If we would work with the Lord for the Body of Christ, we need to realize that in the Lord’s recovery there is only one work — the work of the Body. God has only one work that He is doing today – the work of building up the Body of Christ. What we are […]

knowing the Body in practice: the universal church and the local churches

On the one hand, we need to know the Body of Christ in life – Christ is the life of the Body of Christ, and the Body is a mingling of divinity with humanity. When we see that the Christ we have received through regeneration is the life of the Body of Christ, we will […]

a trainee’s testimony – the sweetest time is in the saints’ homes (the real family life)

January 3, 2012 by Christian Student 2 Comments

The atmosphere in the homes is very cherishing and not religious at all. Most of all I enjoyed that this is not “the time for professionals showing of their eloquence or good Bible knowledge”. On the contrary, it is a sweet and intimate time for the family to come together to enjoy the sweetest Person in the universe together! It is indeed the real family life and actually the highest life because we all share God’s life. My desire is that this fresh taste I got this autumn I hope will continue after my time in the training so that this becomes a practical part of my daily living. the Body of Christ builds itself up through all the members growing and functioning in their measure

August 11, 2011 by aGodMan 3 Comments

Many Christians wondered and studied this very important question, How can we build up the Body of Christ? Yes, the Lord Jesus said in Matt. 16:18 that He will build up His church, but how can we as members of the Body contribute to the building up of the Body of Christ? Yes, there are […]
