Christ as the incarnated Word of God fully explained God, defined God, and expressed God!

May 17, 2011 by aGodMan Leave a Comment

Christ as the Word of God is for God’s speaking – the Word became incarnate to be a man, which means that God’s speaking was in a man! God was expressed, explained, defined, and made real to man through the Lord Jesus Christ! The man Jesus Christ was God’s Word, God’s speaking – He expressed God through His life, His work, His speaking, and through all that He was and He did!

He spoke God – as the Word of God – not only through words but also through His works. Christ expressed God and spoke God through both His words and His actions. Sometimes He spoke with words and He expressed, defined, and explained God; at other times, He spoke with His actions, His deeds, and with what He accomplished. God Himself as the Word, God expressed and defined, was in a “human tabernacle” living among man!

“The Word became flesh and tabernacled among us” (John 1:14) in order to express God, explain God, and even define God in many practical ways. I really love this quote from, The Conclusion of the New Testament (msg. 22),

In the Old Testament God spoke in the prophets, in men moved by His Spirit (Heb. 1:1; 2 Pet. 1:21). In the New Testament He speaks in the Son, who is God Himself expressed (Heb. 1:2-3). God the Father is hidden; God the Son is expressed. No one has ever seen God, but the Son as the Word of God, as the speaking of God, has declared and expressed Him. Whereas God spoke through the prophets in the Old Testament, He did not have Himself expressed. But in the New Testament God speaks in the Son, who expresses Him. Formerly God spoke through the prophets indirectly, but now He speaks directly in the Son, that is, in the One who is the expression of the Father.

This is what John 1:18 says, “No one has ever seen God; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.”

We thank the Lord for Christ as the second of the Divine Trinity coming to us as the Word of God incarnated to express God, explain God, and define God to us! Christ as the dear beloved Only Begotten Son of God came as the Word of God to express God!

As revealed in the first chapter of the Gospel of John, Christ as the Father’s only begotten Son expressed Him by the Word (John 1:1), life, light (John 1:4), grace, and reality (John 1:14). The Word is God expressed, life is God imparted, light is God’s shining, grace is God enjoyed, and reality is God realized!

The essence of all these items is God Himself! What a wonderful thing – God became a man and this One is the Word of God and the light of life, the One who brings the divine life into the world by shining forth God that man may be born of God to be His children, making man God in life and nature but not in His Godhead!

We are regenerated through the Word of God, we grow in life by drinking the milk of the Word (1 Pet. 2:2), and we know God by coming to the Word of God! Praise the Lord for Christ as the Word of God! [sharing inspired from, The Central Line of the Bible (Holy Word for Morning Revival); intro via, Christ explains, expresses, and defines God]

Lord, we say Amen to Your Word! We love You as the Word of God! You are indeed the definition, expression, and explanation of God! Thank You for coming to us as the Word of God to bring God into us! Thank You for Your speaking, Lord! Continue to speak to us – continue to explain God to us, define God to us, and express God to us! We want to take in Your Word and grow in life daily! Lord, we love You as the Word of God!
