God Intends for us to Remember Christ’s Redemption in a Specific and Detailed Way

February 23, 2015 by aGodMan 2 Comments

The detailed account of Christ’s redemption typified in Exodus indicates that God intends for us to remember Christ’s redemption in a specific and detailed way.

This week in our morning revival we are enjoying the matter of the Passover as seen in the book of Exodus. Most believers know that Christ is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29), and their understanding and appreciation of the Passover is limited to this aspect. However, […]

The Church is a Corporate Thornbush Burning with the Triune God of Resurrection

February 21, 2015 by aGodMan 1 Comment

Mark 12:36-37 But concerning the dead, that they are raised, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the section concerning the bush, how God spoke to him, saying, "I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob"? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

The God who called Moses and the God who calls us is the Triune God of resurrection. This means that the church today is the corporate thornbush burning with the Triune God of resurrection. The God who called Moses was the God of his fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the […]

The Church is Glorious: it is a Corporate Thornbush Indwelt by the Triune God!

February 20, 2015 by aGodMan 1 Comment

Do not say that the church is poor, low, or dead; the more you say this, the more you put yourself under a curse, but if you praise the Lord for the church life and speak well concerning it, you will put yourself under God’s blessing. (Witness Lee)

In God’s eyes and in Moses’ understanding, the people of Israel were a corporate thornbush as the dwelling place of God as the divine fire burning within and upon them. God redeemed them (Exo. 13:14-16), sanctified them (Exo. 13:2), transformed them, and built them up to become the reality of the tabernacle, the dwelling place […]

The Divine Economy: the Church is the Triune God Burning within Redeemed Humanity!

February 18, 2015 by aGodMan 1 Comment

Praise the Lord that His economy has been unveiled to us! Every local church is a thornbush burning with the Triune God!

God’s desire is to obtain a dwelling place; the heavens are His throne, the earth is His footstool, but where is the man in which He is pleased to dwell? God dwells in man – His dwelling place is in our mingled spirit today (Eph. 1:21-22). The thornbush in Exo. 3 and the tabernacle later […]

The Thornbush is Gradually Sanctified and Transformed to Become God’s Dwelling Place

February 17, 2015 by aGodMan 1 Comment

In the Lord’s recovery we do not care for a large number; we care for the genuine experience of transformation. I am happy that we are under the divine burning, the burning that transforms us and makes us dispositionally different from the worldly people. Because the element of God is being burned into our nature, we are becoming men of God. This is what it means to be a burning thornbush in an individual sense. According to our nature, we are still a thornbush, but according to God’s burning within us, we are transformed people. On the one hand, we are a thornbush; on the other hand, we are men of God. (Life-study of Exodus, pp. 76-78)

Throughout the Bible from Genesis to Revelation we see that God’s goal ultimately is to obtain a dwelling place; what He is focused on today is building up His habitation. From Jacob’s dream in Genesis to Revelation 22 what God desires is to gain a dwelling place in man, a mutual habitation with man, where […]

Individually and Corporately we are a Thornbush Burning with the Triune God as Fire

February 16, 2015 by aGodMan 1 Comment

We need to see how both individually and corporately we are a thornbush burning with the Triune God as the fire (and the fuel)

This week we are having a closer look at the matter of the burning thornbush in Exodus; there is much more than meets the eye concerning the matter of the burning bush in Exo. 3, since even at the end of his life, Moses still recalls God as the One who dwells in the burning […]

God Called us in the Fellowship of Christ, into His Sufferings, and unto His Glory

February 15, 2015 by aGodMan 2 Comments

God has called us for the purpose of obtaining the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ; He has called His chosen ones unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth so that they might obtain the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Thes. 2:13-14).

The New Testament reveals many aspects of God’s calling. In the Gospels, the Epistles, and in the book of Revelation we can see a clear picture of God calling us. First, God called us according to His predestination, His foreknowledge and choosing in eternity past. God called us according to His purpose and His grace. […]
