Having Harmony in our Inner Being & Among us, the One Accord, to enjoy God’s Blessing

Again, truly I say to you that if two of you are in harmony on earth concerning any matter for which they ask, it will be done for them from My Father who is in the heavens. Matt. 18:19

The master key to every blessing in the New Testament is the one accord, for God will send His blessing upon a situation of one accord; one accord refers to the harmony in our inner being, in our mind and will, like a harmonious melody. Amen!

The Gospels speak of the Lord Jesus, the God-man, who came to accomplish redemption and also express God before man. He lived a wonderful God-man life, fulfilling God’s eternal purpose in every way. After the Gospels, we have the book of Acts, which shows us the continuation of Christ.

The landmark between the Gospels and Acts is the one accord. Some say that the landmark is the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, for it was then that the church was formed and God began His move through the disciples to spread the gospel and establish the kingdom of God.

This is true only partially, for it was not God simply sending the Spirit but it was the cooperation of the disciples of Christ who prayed in one accord, one hundred twenty of them, and the Lord poured out the Spirit.

After the Lord’s death and resurrection, the disciples did not go to preach the gospel and announce the kingdom of God; rather, they remained in Jerusalem, as they were commanded by God and they prayed in one accord for ten days.

This triggered a reaction in the heavens: the Father poured out the pneumatic Christ as the Holy Spirit upon the disciples to clothe them for their work. They were already regenerated by God when the Lord Jesus breathed into them the Holy Spirit (John 20:22).

Now on the day of Pentecost, after praying in one accord, the Lord clothed them with power for them to become the church, the Body of Christ, and for them to have the authority to propagate the resurrected Christ and spread the kingdom of God.

Unfortunately, the one accord was later lost among the disciples, and the Lord had a way to move mainly with the Apostle Paul; however, today we want to recover the one accord for Him to have a way to pour out His blessing.

May we follow the pattern of the early disciples to be in one accord so that the Lord may have a way to pour out His blessing.

If we exercise our spirit and also deal with our heart to practice the principle of the Body, we will have the one accord, for the one accord is the Body. We touch the reality of the Body of Christ in our experience when we have the one accord.

The Master Key to Every Blessing in the New Testament is the One Accord – we must Practice the Oneness by the One Accord

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ. Eph. 1:3 I exhort Euodias, and I exhort Syntyche, to think the same thing in the Lord. Phil. 4:2

If we read the first two chapters of Acts we will see that the one accord is the master key to God pouring out His blessing upon the disciples of Christ. Throughout the New Testament we see that the one accord is the master key to every blessing in the New Testament (Eph. 1:3; Psa. 133).

Psalm 133 shows us that, where the brothers dwell in oneness, where there is the one accord among the saints, the Lord pours out His blessing, even life forevermore. Amen!

In order for us to receive God’s blessing we need to practice the oneness by the one accord. The degree to which we have the one accord is the degree to which we enjoy God’s blessing.

As we fellowship and pray with the saints, we need to let the Lord attune us and blend us so that we may be in one accord.

There may be some problems in the church life, some saints may live in a situation that is not proper, and there may even be some situations that no one can touch in the church.

In all these things, we need to simply remain in fellowship and prayer in one accord with the saints. If we want to experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit, we must have the one accord.

If we as believers in Christ and saints in the local churches have the one accord, the baptism of the Spirit will be there.

If we want to practice the proper way of preaching the gospel, having impact and leading many to the Lord and into the enjoyment of Christ in the church life, we need the one accord.

We may know much about the Lord, His economy, and the healthy teaching in God’s word, but unless we have the one accord, we don’t have the master key to every blessing in the New Testament.

What we should have and seek to have is the one accord, not just a lot of activities. We do not compare with others, we do not imitate others, and we don’t try to catch up with others; we need to have the one accord, the master key.

The master key to all the rooms for us to enjoy God’s blessing in the New Testament is the one accord.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is / For brothers to dwell in unity!...Like the dew of Hermon / That came down upon the mountains of Zion. / For there Jehovah commanded the blessing: / Life forever. Psa. 133:1, 3 The apostle Paul knew that Euodias and Syntyche did not have the one accord, even though these were two dear sisters serving the Lord, so he encouraged them to be in one accord. Oh Lord Jesus!

We really want to have God’s blessing. Our Christian life depends on God’s blessing. If we don’t have God’s blessing, we are just like the rest of the human beings on earth, doing this and that for God, but God is not there with us being manifested in us or expressed through us. Oh Lord Jesus!

The blessing of God can come only upon a situation of one accord, the practice of oneness. When there’s no one accord, the blessing is held back; when the one accord is there, God pours out His blessing.

When we see this, we will not try to merely do gospel outreach or visitation of the new ones but rather, we will seek to have the one accord so that God may have a way to pour out His blessing.

We may be serving the Lord, we may be doing many things for the Lord, and we may be quite involved in the service in the church life, but unless we have the one accord, there’s no blessing.

There’s nothing more sad than serving God without having His blessing. May we be perfected, trained, and brought on by the Lord in our daily life and in our church life so that we may have the one accord which invites and brings in God’s blessing.

Lord Jesus, show us that the master key to all the blessings in the New Testament is the one accord. Save us from doing anything for You or in Your name without having the one accord. We give ourselves to You, dear Lord, to be one with You and also one with the saints You put us with. May we learn to stop what we are doing for You and be blended together in one accord, even to have our differences removed and torn down so that the one accord be among us. Oh Lord, we want to have the master key to all the blessings in the New Testament! We want to have Your blessing! Without Your blessing we cannot go on. Without Your blessing, our life is miserable and our work for You is futile. We give ourselves to You to know the Body, keep the principle of the Body, and have the one accord in the church life! May You have a situation among us in which there’s the one accord, the practice of the oneness, so that You may pour out Your blessing!

Having Harmony in our Inner Being, our Mind and Will: One Accord is the Key and Life Pulse of the Prayer, the Spirit, and the Word

These all continued steadfastly with one accord in prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers. Acts 1:14

What is the one accord? What does it mean to have the one accord which invites God’s blessing and the baptism in the Spirit? In Acts 1:14 we see that one accord refers to the harmony in our inner being, in our mind and will.

One accord refers to the inward harmony. This doesn’t mean that we need to analyse ourselves and see if we have the one accord; rather, we need to pray and learn to have the one accord. There’s a sense in our spirit that indicates to us to what extent there’s harmony in our being.

There’s a sense we have inwardly that there’s nothing that nullifies or hinders the harmony in our being, the harmony in our mind and will.

In the book of Acts we see the one hundred twenty who prayed together in one accord; they prayed in one mind, in the same mind. They prayed with the same will and the same purpose around and within the soul and the heart.

On the one hand, when we pray, we need to exercise our spirit. On the other hand, we need to also be in the same mind and the same will with the same purpose around and within our soul and heart.

Our whole being is involved when it comes to the one accord. Our entire being needs to be in harmony, for we need to have harmony in our inner being – in our mind and will. Also, among us with the saints we pray with, we need to be in harmony.

In Acts 1:14 the Greek word for one accord is homothumadon; it is a strong and all-inclusive term. It comes from the words “homo” meaning same, and “humos” meaning mind, will, purpose (soul, heart).

This word denotes the harmony of inward feeling on one’s entire being.

Many times we can testify that there’s no harmony in our inner being. Our will is at conflict with God’s will, our mind has different thoughts than God’s thoughts, and when we come together, we have different opinions, feelings, and intentions than those we pray with. Oh Lord Jesus!

We need to come to the Lord and ask Him to make harmony in our inner being. We don’t need to ask for more difficult situations or dealings; we need more harmony in our being.

We need to ask the Lord to bring our whole inner being in harmony before God for the sake of the Body of Christ.

For the sake of the Body, for the sake of the testimony of God, we need to have harmony inwardly, in our mind and will. For the sake of the Lord’s testimony, there’s the need to have harmony among the saints.

We all should be in the same mind and the same will, having the same purpose around and within our soul and heart. Our whole heart is involved, which means that our whole being is involved.

As we follow the pattern of the disciples in the book of Acts, we want to take the way of prayer, the Spirit, and the Word. Before they did anything, they prayed. As they did anything, they were in spirit and the Spirit was speaking in them. And what they spoke was nothing but the Word of God, not their own things.

According to the Bible and according to history, we need to take the way of prayer, the Spirit, and the word in order for the gospel to be prevailing. The key for practicing prayer, the Spirit, and the Word is the one accord.

The one accord is the key and the life pulse of prayer, the Spirit, and the Word. If we don’t have the one accord, we may seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit, we may pray much, and we may have lots of spiritual knowledge from the Word, yet we will not have the blessing. Oh Lord Jesus!

It seemed good to us, having become of one accord, to choose men to send to you together with our beloved Barnabas and Paul....And there was a sharp contention, so that they separated from each other; and Barnabas, taking Mark along, sailed away to Cyprus. But Paul chose Silas and went out, having been commended to the grace of the Lord by the brothers. Acts 15:25, 39-40 So many Christians today have much Bible knowledge, desperately pray for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and have much prayer, yet they don’t have God’s blessing because they do not have the one accord.

There’s no harmony in their inner being nor is there harmony between them and the saints. Even worse, instead of being harmony, there’s dissent and divisiveness. The one accord is something we all need to seek to have and practice, and it involves our entire being.

If we look at the book of Acts, the one accord is no longer used after Acts 15; in vv. 1-33 in this chapter we see that the leading brothers became of one accord, but at the end of this chapter there was a dissension between Barnabas and Paul.

Today the Lord wants to recover the one accord among us. He wants to have access to the depths of our being and deal with anything that is not in agreement with Him.

He wants to expose any differences in our opinions, feelings, and thoughts so that He may attune us with the saints. In Matthew 18:19 the Greek word symphoneo is used to signify the one accord; this word means “to be in harmony, or accord.”

It refers in particular to the harmonious sound of musical instruments or voices. When we have the harmony of inward feeling in our being and among the believers, this is like a harmonious melody to God.

When we believers in Christ have the one accord, we become a pleasing melody to God, and God is satisfied; He can then pour out His blessing.

Lord Jesus, we open our whole inner being to Yourself. Have access to our mind, emotion, and will, and work Yourself into every part. We pray that You would grant us to have harmony in our inward being. May there be harmony in our mind and will; may our mind and will be in accord with You. Oh Lord, grant us to have the one accord among us today with the saints. Have Your way in us and among us. May we be in the same mind and the same will with the same purpose around and within our soul and heart. Oh Lord, we open our whole being to You! Make our inward being one with You. May You gain a harmonious sound as we pray in one accord with the saints! Gain the pleasing melody You desire among the saints so that You may be able to pour out Your blessing! We want to take the way of prayer, the Spirit, and the Word in one accord for You to have Your way among us in a prevailing way!

The 1st mention of one accord in Acts (1:14) was in relation to steadfast prayers. This is the master key to every blessing.

The degree to which we practice the one accord determines the extent of the blessing we get. If we hang on to offences (which are bound to happen anyway), the one accord is broken. There’s an automatic insulation from the Life-giving Spirit, and we’re not in the reality. Lord, save us! The blessing of God can only come in a situation of one accord, the practice of oneness!

One accord denotes harmony of inward in one’s entire being (soul, heart). This points to our personal relationship with the Lord, not an outward objective matter. All the problems in our inward being that are not confessed, unresolved, cause a break in our relationship with the Lord. Oh Lord! One accord is not for us to feel good in ourselves. It is for the building up of the Body!

Eventually, we all have to come before the judgement seat of the Lord, and all the unresolved matters in us on the earth will all be laid bear before Him for dealing – Lord, I do not want any surprises on the Judgment Day!
Lord, today, shine on me to deal with all matters in me inwardly today!

When we pray in, and, have the one accord, our one accord is music to the Lord’s ears!
May we all meet the Lord’s need in one accord!

Amen, brother, a very sobering message today, touching on one accord, the extent of our blessing, our inward being, and meeting God’s need! Lord, grace us all in these matters!

The landmark that divides the Gospels and the Acts was not the baptism in the Holy Spirit. The landmark was the one accord of the one hundred twenty. If you want to experience the baptism in the Spirit, you must have the one accord. If all the members of a local church have the one accord, the baptism in the Spirit will be there. If you really want to practice the proper way to preach the gospel, you need the one accord…The one accord is the “master key to all the rooms,” the master key to every blessing in the New Testament. This is why Paul told Euodias and Syntyche that they needed this one accord (Phil. 4:2). Paul knew that these sisters loved the Lord but that they had lost the one accord.

The unity spoken of here is a picture of the genuine oneness in the New Testament. This oneness is the processed and consummated Triune God mingled with the believers in Christ (John 17:21-23). Since the Body of Christ is such a mingling (Eph. 4:4-6), the Body itself is the oneness. According to the picture in this psalm, the genuine oneness is constituted of the spreading ointment and the descending dew for the gradual building up of the Body of Christ in the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity.

The master key to every blessing in the New Testament is the one accord. If we want to receive God’s blessing, we must practice the oneness by the one accord.

Such a one accord is a pleasant melody to God and brings in His blessing.

Lord Jesus, we want to take the way of prayer, the Spirit, and the Word, with one key – the one accord! Recover the one accord among us for You to pour out Your blessing!

Amen, may we be in harmony and in the same mind and purpose in every matter for the one accord.

Any society or movement needs the same kind of thought and mind, we must be in one accord to attain the oneness Christ seeks.

In our mind, love and speaking help us to practice the one accord so my mind doesn’t wander and our speaking is not loose today Lord
