Doing the Will of the Father: The Kingdom Is God’s Will Being Fulfilled on Earth

For whoever does the will of My Father who is in the heavens, he is My brother and sister and mother. Matt. 12:50

According to Matthew 12:50, whoever does the will of the Father is a relative of the Lord Jesus – His brother and sister and mother; we need to see that the kingdom is absolutely a matter of God’s will and completely fulfils God’s will, and in fact, the kingdom is God’s will.

Lord Jesus, we love You and we care for what You care. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done. We want to be one with You today for the fulfilment of Your will. We join ourselves to You to pray for the kingdom to come and for Your will do be done on earth. Amen, Lord, we are here for Your will, not for our will. May Your will and not our will be done! Amen!

We believers in Christ need to realise that, as kingdom people, we need to do the will of God, the will of the Father, and not our own will.

What is the will of God? We may think that we know God’s will for our life, where to go, what to do, etc, and we may ask the Lord to reveal to us what His plan for our life is. We may even want to have His leading and guiding throughout the day, following the leading of the Spirit.

But we need to see what is the will of God is according to the Bible; on one hand, the will of God has to do with many things in our daily life, and on the other hand, God’s will is the same from eternity toe ternity.

According to the New Testament, God’s will is Christ and the church; it is Christ as the Head and the Body as the corporate expression of Christ.

May the Lord enlighten us to see this and realise that God’s will is focused and centered on Christ and the church, and may we give oruselves to the Lord for this.

May we be like Mary who did not just labour busily around to prepare food and take care of practical matters but sat down at the Lord’s feet to listen to His word.

The Lord needs such ones, those who stop their inner being, stop their busyness, and stop their outawrd activities to just listen to Him.

When we listen to the Lord by sitting at His feet, we will be infused with His desire and we will know His will.

Because Mary sat at the Lord’s feet, she absorbed His word, and she understood that His death was imminent, so she took the opportunity to waste all she had on Him.

If we listen to the Lord’s word and are infused with His intentions, we will waste ourselves and all we have more precious on the Lord, for He is worthy of our sacrifice of love.

Matthew 26:7-12 shows us how Mary came with a flask of ointment, broke it, and poured it all on the Lord.

The disciples were asking, Why this waste? But she did this for His burial, taking the opportunity to show Him how much she loves Him. May we be such ones today

. May we take the time to be in the Lord’s word, listen to His speaking, and pay the price to give our all to Him, even to be one with Him for the carrying out of God’s will.

Whoever Does the Will of the Father is a Relative of the Lord Jesus – a mother, a brother, or a sister

But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit. 1 Cor. 6:17

In Matthew 12 we see one positive and one negative situation; the negative situation is that the people of Israel rejected the Lord to the uttermost, and the positive situation is that the Lord turned to those who do the Father’s will as His relatives.

The Jews rejected the Lord, and even those in His own earthly family came to see Him, trying to distract Him from fulfilling His ministry; therefore, the Lord turned from them.

As He was ministering and speaking, someone told Him that His mother and His brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak to Him (vv. 46-47).

Then the Lord said, Who is My mother, and who are My brothers? Then, stretching out His hand toward His disciples, the Lord said, Behold, My mother and My brothers!

While He was still speaking to the crowds, behold, His mother and His brothers stood outside seeking to speak to Him. And someone said to Him, Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside seeking to speak to You. But He answered and said to him who spoke to Him, Who is My mother, and who are My brothers? And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, Behold, My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father who is in the heavens, he is My brother and sister and mother. Matt. 12:49-50For whoever does the will of My Father who is in the heavens, he is My brother and sister and mother (vv. 48-50).

This shows that the Lord forsook His relationship in the flesh with the Jews, who rejected Him, and turned to the Gentiles, to all those who do the will of the Father.

Later, Paul expounded on this in Romans 11:17 and 19-20. Now the relationship Christ has with His followers is no longer in the flesh but in the spirit.

Whoever does the will of His Father is a brother who helps Christ, a sister who sympathises with Him, and a mother who tenderly loves Him. Wow!

We should not think that we understand what this means, and then move on; we need to dwell on this, inquire of the Lord concerning this, and even ask Him to make us such ones.

According to the Gospels, we see how Christ, the heavenly King, always submitted to the Father’s will, taking God’s will as His portion and not resisting anything (Matt. 11:28-30; 26:39).

Though others rejected Him, persecuted Him, and left Him, Christ did the will of the Father in all things.

Now whoever does the will of the Father is a brother, a sister, and a mother to the Lord. If we today do the will of the Father who is in the heavens, we are a relative of Jesus.

When we do the will of God the Father, we are not only human beings but relatives of the Lord; we are a brother who helps Him, a sister who sympathises with Him, and a mother who tenderly loves Him.

Whenever we do something in line with the will of God, we are helping the Lord Jesus in love.

He appreciates this. He considers us as His relatives according to the Spirit. The Lord needs help. He needs sympathy.

He needs us to sympathise with Him by doing the will of God, and He needs tender care.

He wants us to see the will of God, be one with Him, and enter into His feeling to do the will of God.

When we respond to the Lord according to His word, matching Him according to His word, He appreciates it.

Later in Matthew 7 the Lord says that He will reject those who do great works in His name but do not do the will of the Father.

Wow, we may do great works in God’s name, we may be blessed by Him in our work for Him, yet we may not do the will of the Father, and the Lord will reject us and discipline us on that day! Oh Lord!

What He wants is that we enter into His feeling, be one with Him, and do the will of the Father.

We may serve the Lord in the church, and the Lord may even bless our service, but we may not do the will of the Father.

Actually, though our service may be positive and may help many, it may be a bother to the Body of Christ. It may rather damage the Body than build up the Body. Oh Lord Jesus!

May we open to the Lord and come to Him, realising that we are one spirit with the Lord (1 Cor. 6:17).

Come to Me all who toil and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matt. 11:28-30 And going forward a little, He fell on His face and prayed, saying, My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will. Matt. 26:39We are the Lord’s relatives when we do the will of the Father, and by being born of God, we are one with Him in spirit, even one Body in Christ, one new man in Him!

God is our Father, and we are children of God. Christ as the Firstborn Son of God took the lead to do the will of His Father.

We as the many sons of God take the same way He took, being one with Him as His companions.

We now do the will of our Father, one with the Lord in spirit. We walk the same way and do the same will as the Lord Jesus. He did the will of the Father.

He is in us, we are in Him, and we are joined in spirit. Now we do the will of the Father.

On the negative side, we deal with our temper, lust, self, flesh, and anxiety. On the positive side, we are one with the Lord to do the will of the Father.

May we spend time with the Lord in His word to be infused with the Father’s will and intention, and may we be one with Him to accomplish His will by His life.

We cannot accomplish God’s will by our efforts; it is only by His life in our spirit.

We need to live in the life of the heavenly Father so that we may do the will of the Father by His life.

Lord Jesus, we love You and we open to You. We come to You in Your word. Speak to us. Infuse us with the desire of Your heart. Make the desire of Your heart become the desire of our heart. Oh Lord, we are one with You today. We want to do the will of the Father. We join ourselves to You in Your word. We are one with You in spirit today and we seek to do the will of the Father! Hallelujah, Christ as the heavenly King always submitted to the Father’s will, taking God’s will as His portion and not resisting anything! Praise the Lord, this One is in us, and we are joined to Him as one spirit! Amen, Lord, may we be those who focus not on great outward works for God or in the name of God but on doing the will of the Father! We exercise our spirit to be one spirit with You. We want to live in the mingled spirit today so that we may accomplish the will of God. May we live by the divine life of our heavenly Father so that we may do the will of our Father!

The Kingdom is a Matter of God’s Will and Fulfills His Will: the Kingdom is God’s Will, and we Pray for His will to be Done on Earth!

Your kingdom come; Your will be done, as in heaven, so also on earth. Matt. 6:10

As those seeking the kingdom of God and His righteousness, we realise that the kingdom is absolutely a matter of God’s will.

The kingdom of God is the will of God, and the kingdom of God completely fulfils God’s will.

In fact, the kingdom is God’s will. What God desires is to bring His kingdom on the earth; this is the Father’s will. He sent Christ not only to redeem us by His death on the cross but even more, to bring in the kingdom of God.

When we believed into the Lord Jesus by repentance and faith in Him, we received Christ as the kingdom of God into us.

Now we learn to live one spirit with the Lord and do the will of the Father, not our own will.

We enthrone the Lord in our being, we give Him the preeminence, and we pray as the Lord taught us, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven (Matt. 6:10).

We pray for God’s will do be done, which is for His kingdom to come on earth. In heaven, the will of God is done, but on the earth, the enemy of God opposes God; so we pray for God’s kingdom to come and for His will to be done.

The kingdom of God is the will of God; wherever the will of God is carried out, the kingdom is there.

The ultimate issue of the constitution of the kingdom of the heavens is the will of the heavenly Father (Matt. 7:21).

In Matthew 5-7 the Lord Jesus issued the decrees of the kingdom of the heavens; He spoke concerning what the kingdom people are, what they should be, what they should deal with, how they should pray, and what they should do.

The ultimate issue of the constitution of the kingdom of the heavens is the will of the Father. Our daily living as believers in Christ should be for the will of the Father to be carried out. As kingdom people, we are here on the earth to do God’s will (Matt. 12:50).

We are not here to do a great work for God. We are not here to accumulate riches or possessions.

Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but he who does the will of My Father who is in the heavens. Matt. 7:21We are not here to have a great gospel work or a prevailing ministry. We are not here to build up a model church.

We are here for God’s will. We only want the will of God to be done. Whatever we do, we want to do the will of the Father. If it is the Father’s will to preach the gospel, care for the new ones, and do a work for God, we are one with Him in this.

We simply pray for the Father’s will to be done on the earth as in heaven so that we may bring in the kingdom of the heavens to the earth.

Even as the Lord Jesus lived on earth for the will of the Father, allowing the Father’s will to limit Him, restrict Him, guide Him, and even lead Him to the death of the cross, so we today pray for the Father’s will to be done on earth as in heaven.

Even when the will of God is against our will, we still exercise our spirit to do the Father’s will.

Like the Lord Jesus, we learn to take the Father’s will as the yoke for us to bear, and we stand with Him in spirit to pray for His will to be done, that is, for His kingdom to come.

We cooperate with Him for the accomplishment of His will in us and around us by living by His divine life, for only His divine life can do the divine will. And we pray for the kingdom to come and for the will of God to be done.

Lord, may Your kingdom come and may Your will be done. Our Father, who is in heaven, Your name be sanctified, Your kingdom come, Your will be done! Amen, Father God, we join ourselves to You in spirit to pray for Your kingdom to come so that Your will may be done! May the will of God be fulfilled on the earth so that the kingdom of God may come among us. Hallelujah, the kingdom is absolutely a matter of God’s will and completely fulfills God’s will! Praise the Lord, the kingdom is God’s will, and God wants to bring in His kingdom so that His will may be done on earth! Amen, Lord, may we be those who are one with You today for the carrying out of God’s will on earth. May Your kingdom come and may Your will be done! We are here for Your will to be done. We join ourselves to You, dear Lord, and we want to live by the divine life so that the will of God may be done in us, around us, in the church life, and in all things! Amen, Lord, release our prayers for the kingdom of the heavens to come to the earth!

In Matthew 7:21 the Lord did not say “your Father” but “My Father.” Here the Lord seemed to be saying, “I, the Son of Man and the Son of God, have been doing the will of My Father. You also are sons of God and My brothers. Therefore, you must be My companions and take the same way that I take. Now you are not to do the will of your Father but the will of My Father. You are My brothers, My companions, and My partners. You and I are walking the same way and doing the same will. You are living with Me according to the will of My Father.” In this last section of the constitution, it is no longer a negative matter of dealing with our temper, lust, self, flesh, and anxiety. It is absolutely a positive matter of doing the will of the Father who is in the heavens…In order to do the will of the Father, we need to walk on the constricted way. In the teachings of the worldly philosophers, there is neither the divine life and divine nature nor the divine way. But here the ultimate issue of the constitution of the kingdom of the heavens is the will of the heavenly Father. This means that we have a heavenly Father and that we are the Father’s sons…Our Father has a will to accomplish, but we can accomplish it only by His life. We need to live in the life of the heavenly Father and also by that life. This kind of living is for the doing of the Father’s will.

What a privilege to be joined to the Lordn not by our natural life but by our spiritual birth to be one spirit with the Lord (1 Cor.6:17)

Because Christ, the heavenly King, always submitted to the Father’s will, taking God’s will as His portion and not resisting anything, we His followers need to be part of those ” Whoever does the will of My Father ” to be a brother who helps Him, a sister who sympathizes with Him, and a mother who tenderly loves Him – to fulfill God’s will!

As the kingdom people, our reason for being on earth should be governed by God’s will (Matt. 12:50).

For this, we need to be partners and companions of the Lord in walking the constricted way, live in, and by, the life of the heavenly Father to do the will of the Father!

Father, in and through us, Your will be daily done on earth, as in heaven! Duplicate on earth, the kingdom of the heavens!

Lord Jesus, we love You and we want Your will to be done! May we be those who do the will of the Father today.

We believers in Christ are one spirit with the Lord, and we sympathise with Him, caring for His will. We want His will to be done on earth, and we pray for His kingdom to come.

Amen, Lord, may we see that the kingdom is a matter of God’s will and completely fulfills God’s will! May we realise that the kingdom is God’s will, and may we be one with You to pray for Your kingdom to come and for Your will to be done! Amen!
