Christ Died on the Cross to Produce the Church through Redemption and Life-imparting

And Jehovah God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh in its place. Gen. 2:21

Through Christ’s death on the cross, the divine life within Him was released, and through His resurrection, His released divine life was imparted into us to produce the church, the reality of Eve, to be brought to Him as the church, His counterpart and complement.

Hallelujah for Christ’s death and resurrection for the producing of the complement of Christ, the church!

If we want to know the bride of Christ, if we want to be part of the bride of Christ, it is good for us to read the Bible prayerfully and see what the bride of Christ is and how she is produced.

The Bible reveals to us in its first two chapters concerning the bride of Christ; first, we see how God created Adam, a man in His image and according to His likeness, to be a type of Christ, and then we see how God made him a counterpart, Eve.

God created man in His image and according to His likeness so that God would be expressed and represented through the corporate man; for man to become corporate, for God to gain what He is after, he needed to have a counterpart.

God looked at the man He created and said, It is very good! But then later God said, It is not good for man to be alone. Since Adam is a representative of God, even a type of Christ, God’s word means that it was not good for God to be alone.

Of course, God is perfect, almighty, self-existing, and ever-existing, and there’s nothing He needs in order to be perfect.

However, God needs a counterpart, a wife; for this, He created man, and He wants man to become His bride, His wife. That is such an amazing thought, and the whole Bible speaks about it!

Man is not created merely to worship God, obey God, and do the will of God; man is created in God’s image and according to His likeness so that man would receive God’s life, be transformed, and be built up together to be part of the building of God, the bride for Christ, to match Him.

The first two chapters of the Bible show us the blueprint of God’s organic architectural plan to obtain His bride, His building; the last two chapters show us the finished bride, a photograph of the New Jerusalem as the bride of the Lamb, the building of God.

May we open to the Lord and allow Him to work Himself into us little by little, day by day, so that we may be built up by Him and with Him in His life to be the bride of Christ, the church in this age, the bride in the next age, and the wife of the Lamb for eternity!

As Adam’s Sleep was for the Producing of Eve as his Wife, so Christ Died on the Cross to Produce the Church as His Counterpart

Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless the grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. John 12:24

We may read the record in Genesis 2, and we may be either amused or amazed to see how man gave names to all the animals.

The reason God brought all animals and birds and cattle to Adam was not only so that Adam would name them but even more, for Adam to find a counterpart. It is not good for Adam to be alone; he needs a counterpart. It is not good for God to be alone; He needs the church as His counterpart.

In order for God to produce a complement for Himself, He first became a man, as typified by God’s creation of Adam (John 1:14; Rom. 5:14).

He came to seek a wife for Himself; His living and walk on earth was Him looking for a wife, a counterpart for Himself.

Husbands, love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her That He might sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing of the water in the word, That He might present the church to Himself glorious, not having spot or wrinkle or any such things, but that she would be holy and without blemish. Eph. 5:25-27He saw the Pharisees and He may have said, That is a horse, it does not match Me. He saw and met many people, and He spent much time with His disciples and also with sinners and tax collectors, for they were open to Him.

Eventually, just as for Adam, there was no counterpart found among all the animals, so for Christ, there was no one to match Him.

So God put Adam to sleep; He caused a deep sleep to fall upon man, and the man slept. Then, God took one of Adam’s ribs and closed up the flesh in its place; out of this rib, He made a woman and brought her to the man (Gen. 2:21-22).

Adam’s deep sleep for the producing of Eve as his wife typifies Christ’s death on the cross for the producing of the church as His counterpart (Eph. 5:25-27).

Adam’s death typifies Christ’s death on the cross; just as Adam had a deep sleep which resulted in the producing of Eve, his wife, so Christ’s death resulted in the producing of the church. Christ as the real Adam was put to sleep by God on the cross (Mark 15:25, 33).

As Adam was sleeping, God came in to do a work of building with one of Adam’s ribs to produce Eve as his wife.

As Christ entered into death, God did a work with something of Christ to produce the church as His wife. In the Bible, sleep means death (see 1 Cor. 15:18; 1 Thes. 4:13-16; John 11:11-14).

Christ’s death was not a normal, ordinary death; indeed, He was put to death and died a human death, but His death was marvellous.

Christ’s death is the life-releasing, life-imparting, life-propagating, life-multiplying, and life-reproducing death to produce the church! Through His death, Christ released the divine life concealed within the shell of His humanity.

He released this life and imparted it into the believers in Christ to regenerate them in His resurrection for His bride. His life was a life-propagating death, even a life-multiplying and a life-reproducing death!

The Lord was the reality of the grain of wheat He spoke of in John 12:24 which fell into the ground and died to grow up and produce many grains, which is us, the many believers in Christ! Now we, as the many grains, are making the one loaf which is the Body, the church (1 Cor. 10:17). Praise the Lord!

Seeing that there is one bread, we who are many are one Body; for we all partake of the one bread. 1 Cor. 10:17It is amazing to see how Adam is a type of Christ and how Adam’s going through a deep sleep for Eve to be produced is a type of Christ’s death to produce the church. Christ died on the cross to produce the church as His counterpart.

First, God became a man, then this man with His divine life and nature went through death and resurrection to be reproduced and multiplied into many believers in Christ who become the many members to compose the real Eve, the church, to match Him and complement Him. Hallelujah!

Through Christ’s death, the divine life within Him was released; through His resurrection, His released divine life was imparted into us, His believers, to constitute the church as the Body of Christ and the bride of Christ (see Luke 12:39-50; Rom. 12:11; Rev. 4:5). Wow!

Christ came as the unique grain of wheat, filled with the divine life, and He died on the cross; He was sowed into the ground to die, and through His death, the divine life within Him was released and imparted into us in His resurrection. Praise the Lord!

Even while He was on the earth, the Lord wanted to release His divine life. He wanted to release fire on earth, the fire of the divine life, so that many would catch the divine fire and be regenerated. This fire is the impulse of the divine life released in His death and imparted into us in His resurrection.

Through this process of death and resurrection, God in Christ has been wrought into man with His life and nature so that man can be the same as God in life and nature in order to match Him as His counterpart. Hallelujah!

Praise the Lord for Christ’s death on the cross for the producing of the church as His counterpart! Thank You, dear Lord Jesus, for becoming a man to come and look for a bride, a counterpart. Thank You for going through death and resurrection in order to produce Your wife, Your bride, which is the church, of which we all believers in Christ are a part! Amen, Lord, You are the reality of Adam, who was put to sleep in order for Eve to be produced out of him. Hallelujah, Christ’s death on the cross was for the producing of the church as His counterpart! Wow, Christ’s death is a life-releasing, life-imparting, life-propagating, life-multiplying, and life-reproducing death! Thank You, Lord, for being willing to go to death and die as a grain of wheat so that we all may be produced in Your resurrection as the many grains for the making of the loaf which is the Body, the church! Hallelujah, we are the church produced by Christ through His death and resurrection to be His counterpart, His bride! Praise the Lord, God in Christ has been wrought into man with His life and nature so that man can be the same as God in life and nature in order to match Him as His counterpart!

The Church was Produced by Christ’s Death and Resurrection with His Redeeming Blood and His Unbreakable Life

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has regenerated us unto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Pet. 1:3

Christ’s death on the cross was for the producing of the church as the counterpart of Christ; His death and resurrection were typified by Adam’s sleep and then waking up to find Eve produced with his element.

When Christ was on the cross, He was put to sleep in order for God to produce the church.

Even more, He died on the cross, and when the Roman soldiers came to take His body from the cross, they did not have to break His legs to help Him die; none of His bones were broken (John 19:31).

This fulfills the Scripture which said that no bone of His shall be broken (John 19:32-33, 36; Exo. 12:46; Num. 9:12; Psa. 34:20). One of the soldiers pierced His side and blood and water came out (John 19:34).

On the one hand, His bones were not broken; on the other hand, His side was opened and blood and water flowed out.

His blood flowed out for our redemption (Heb. 9:22; 1 Pet. 1:18-19), and water flowed out of Him for our regeneration (Exo. 17:6; 1 Cor. 10:4) for us to drink and be regenerated.

Thank the Lord that He flowed out His blood for our redemption, and also water for our regeneration and producing of the church!

The blood and water flowed from Him in streams of pure salvation for our redemption and regeneration.

This life was typified by the rib taken out of Adam’s open side, of which Eve was built.

Just as Eve was built with the rib taken out of Adam’s side, while Adam was sleeping, so God produced and built the church with Christ’s unbreakable life through His death and in His resurrection.

No bone of Christ’s was broken; His divine life cannot be broken. Rather, Christ shed His blood for our redemption and imparted His unbreakable life into us for our regeneration and building up, for Him to produce the church as His counterpart.

Just as Eve was built by God from the rib taken out of Adam’s side, so the church was produced and built by God with what flowed out of Christ’s pierced side – His blood for redemption and His life for regeneration and building up.

And almost all things are purified by blood according to the law, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Heb. 9:22 And all drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank of a spiritual rock which followed them, and the rock was Christ. 1 Cor. 10:4How we thank the Lord Jesus for dying for us, even for being willing to go through a deep sleep for us on the cross so that the church may be produced with His redeeming blood and His regenerating and building life!

Christ’s life is unbreakable, for nothing can break or hold the resurrection life. His blood cleanses us from all sins, washing us and cleansing us to bring us into a right position and condition to receive the life of God.

His divine life was released in His death, and in His resurrection, this divine life was imparted into us to regenerate us and make us part of the church as the counterpart of Christ! Hallelujah!

When Adam awoke from his sleep, he discovered that Eve was present; she was built of his rib and was presented to him to be his counterpart. Likewise, when Christ was resurrected from the dead (1 Cor. 15:20), the church was brought forth with His divine life.

We were all regenerated in the resurrection of Christ (1 Pet. 1:3) to be the many believers in Christ composing the church, the counterpart of Christ.

Now we have Christ as our life, we are washed and cleansed in His blood, and we can have life and live by Him to be the church, the real Eve in resurrection!

Praise the Lord, we are the church, the real Eve today, those who live in Christ, with Christ, by Christ, and one with Christ to be His counterpart. Praise the Lord!

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your death on the cross and for Your resurrection to produce the church as Your counterpart! Hallelujah, on the cross Christ died for us and out of His pierced side blood and water flowed! Oh Lord, thank You for flowing out blood for our redemption. Thank You for flowing out Your divine life for our regeneration and building up. Praise the Lord, none of the Lord’s bones were broken, for His divine life is in resurrection, indestructible! Hallelujah, though Christ’s physical life was killed, nothing could break His divine life, which flows out to produce the church! Amen, Lord, thank You for going through death and resurrection to not only redeem us and regenerate us but even more, to make us Your counterpart, the church as the bride of Christ! Hallelujah, just as Eve was built with something that came out of Adam and came to him to be his counterpart, so the church is built with the resurrection life of Christ and is presented to Christ to be His counterpart! Praise the Lord!

At the end of Christ’s crucifixion, the Jews, who did not want the bodies of the crucified criminals to remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day, asked Pilate to have their legs broken (John 19:31). When the soldiers came to Jesus to break His legs, they found that He had died already and that there was no need for them to break His bones. This fulfilled the Scripture which said, “No bone of His shall be broken” (John 19:32-33, 36; Exo. 12:46; Num. 9:12; Psa. 34:20). Nevertheless, the soldiers pierced His side and blood and water came out (John 19:34). The blood was for redemption (Heb. 9:22; 1 Pet. 1:18-19). What does the water signify? In Exodus 17:6 we find the type of the smitten rock (1 Cor. 10:4). After the rock was smitten, it was cleft, and living water came forth. Jesus on the cross was smitten with the rod of Moses, that is, by the law of God. He was cleft. His side was pierced, and water came forth. This water was the flow of His divine life signifying the life which produces the church. This life was typified by the rib, a piece of bone taken out of Adam’s opened side, of which Eve was produced and built. Hence, the bone typifies the divine life that is signified by the water flowing out of Christ’s side. None of His bones was broken. This signifies that His divine life cannot be broken. His physical life was killed, but nothing could break His divine life which flows out to produce the church.

To produce a matching counterpart who is the same in life and nature for Himself, God 1st became a man.
Then this man with His divine life and nature was multiplied thru death and resurrection into many believers to compose the real Eve to match Him.

In a very real sense, therefore, Adam’s deep sleep from which Eve was produced typifies Christ’s death on the cross to produce the church as His counterpart.

Christ’s death & resurrection was His life-releasing, life-imparting, life-propagating, life-multiplying, and life-reproducing way of producing His matching counterpart with His divine life

Hallelujah, Christ is the grain of wheat falling to the earth to die to produce many grains to constitute the loaf – His Body, the church!

Today, God in Christ has been wrought into man as life through Christ’s death; and we are God’s counterpart!

Amen, brother! Lord, keep us under Your divine dispensing!

Amen, thank You Lord Jesus for imparting Your unbreakable divine life into us.

I appreciate in today’s reading the significance of Adam being put to sleep and waking with a counterpart.

Christ was put to death and resurrected to take the church as His complement.

The life-releasing, life-imparting, life-propagating, life-multiplying, life-reproducing death of Christ.

Keep us under Your breakable divine life today, Lord Jesus

Yes, without death no resurrection; without resurrection no life impartation.

Praise the Lord for His long-suffering process to create one corporate man.

Like His unbroken bone, we also received the unbroken life from Him.

We became part of Him in life and nature, but not the Godhead. He is the genuine one corporate person with the head and the body.

The inseparable head and body. What an eternal purpose our wonderful God has?

We are a privileged people of God’s Kingdom marching to the consummation of the new Jerusalem.

The deep sleep (death) that Adam experienced typified Christ’s death on the cross. Through such a deep sleep, God took a rib and brought forth Eve.

Likewise, in reality, Christ was smitten on the cross, His side was pierced, blood and water, flowed out to produce the real Eve, the church in resurrection to be His complement, His match. Hallelujah!

We are regenerated ones who have Him as our life and nature to live by Him in the church as His Body to be His Bride!

Amen! Oh, what a life!

Lord, keep us under Your divine dispensing so that we can match You as the real Eve, Your bride!

The church is the real Eve. What a perfect picture of the death & resurrection of Christ is revealed in the sleep of Adam and the presence of Eve upon his awakening.

The death & resurrection of our Saviour-God was just the most awesome moment in history. No wonder the Roman centurion declared “This truly was the Son of God.”

Out of our Jesus came forth blood for our redemption and water for the flow of the divine life which produces & builds the church, the Eve of Christ our husband. How marvellous!

Nothing can break God’s divine life. We who have this life just need to trust in and partake of this life continually and this life will carry us all the way to the New Jerusalem, the ultimate expression of the wife of Christ.

Amen and amen! More dispensing is what is needed for the church to be the real & beautiful Eve in practicality & reality.

Oh brother, what a death!!!

Christ’s death is the life-releasing, life-imparting, life-propagating, life-multiplying, and life-reproducing death, which is signified by the grain of wheat falling into the ground to die and to grow up in order to produce many grains for the making of the loaf, which is the Body, the church. His death was typified by Adam being put to a deep sleep.

Through Christ’s death, the divine life typified by the rib and signified by the water within Him was released, and through His resurrection, His released divine life was imparted into His believers for the constituting of the church.

Through such a process, God in Christ has been wrought into man with His life and nature so that man can be the same as God in life and nature in order to match Him as His counterpart.

Thank You and praise You, Lord, for the processes You went through. Thank You for Your all-inclusive death and Your wonderful resurrection.

In order to produce a complement for Himself, God first became a man (John 1:14), as typified by God’s creation of Adam (Rom. 5:14). Here Adam’s deep sleep for the producing of Eve as his wife typifies Christ’s death on the cross for the producing of the church as His counterpart (Eph. 5:25-27). Through Christ’s death the divine life within Him was released, and through His resurrection His released divine life was imparted into His believers for the constituting of the church (see note 1 on John 19:34b). Through such a process God in Christ has been wrought into man with His life and nature so that man can be the same as God in life and nature in order to match Him as His counterpart. John 2:21 footnote 1 on, deep sleep.

In the Scripture the first mention of a bone is in Gen. 2:21-23 there it was a rib taken out of Adam for the producing and building of Eve as a match for Adam. Eve was a type of the church, which is produced and built with the Lord’s resurrection life released out of Him. Hence, the bone is a symbol, a figure, of the Lord’s resurrection life, which nothing can break. The Lord’s side was pierced, but not one of His bones was broken. This signifies that although the Lord’s physical life was terminated, His resurrection life, the very divine life, could not be hurt or damaged by anything. This is the life with which the church is produced and built; it is also the eternal life, which we have obtained by believing into Him (John 3:36). John 19:36 footnote 2 on, bone.

Eph. 5:22-24 Wives, be subject to your own husbands as to the Lord; For a husband is head of the wife as also Christ is Head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the Body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so also let the wives be subject to their husbands in everything.

Eph. 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her. That He might sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing of the water in the word, That He might present the church to Himself glorious, not having spot or wrinkle or any such things, but that she would be holy and without blemish.
