a trainee’s testimony – learning the basic lesson of daily contacting the Lord by enjoying Him

December 25, 2011 by Christian Student 3 Comments

a trainee's testimony - learning the basic lesson of daily contacting the Lord by enjoying HimMy first term in the Full Time Training was very enjoyable. The Lord did deal with me – but in a tender way. He granted me sufficient grace so that I might enjoy Him all the time.

One of the lessons I learnt – which may seem to be such a simple and basic one – is that we need to eat and drink Him everyday! Just as we can’t live our human life without eating and drinking physically, so neither can we live a Christian life without contacting the Lord every day!

In the training, I realized that everyday I need to come to Him, eat Him, drink Him, and have hundreds and thousands of conversations with Him. As long as we are healthy in our eating and drinking, many problems will no longer be a problem to us!

Rather, they become good opportunities for us to gain Christ and to be gained by Him. This is because His grace is sufficient, and we just need to go to Him to be one with the grace, which is the Lord Himself.

Another thing I enjoyed is that – through the training – my appetite for the Bible was increased. His Word is indeed sweet in our mouth and full of life and light. I really enjoyed 1 Pet. 1:8,

Whom having not seen, you love; into whom though not seeing Him at present, yet believing, you exult with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory.

Our Christian life is a life of romance with the Lord. I am a country girl, we are all the country girls, yet in time He came to us as a Country Man to court us and gain us to be His bride. How lovely He is! I love Him as such a divine-human being. Our Triune God is a lovely One, He knows exactly how to attract us, to deal with us, and to gain us. Though we can’t physically see this One, by gazing at Him we are infused with Him as faith, and our reaction to this attractive One is our love for Him.

[Sharing by a dear sister trainee who just finished her first semester in the Full Time Training in London (the FTTL). What an opportunity and a privilege it is for us to be trained for God’s purpose! At the same time, this training makes us normal Christians, those who love the Lord with their whole heart… Picture source: I Love Jesus!]
